Let's see, Manchester by the Sea is about a self-exiled loner living in a basement in Boston who has to deal with a loved one's death, and does so by tackling his demons, past mistakes and the grieving process head on instead of running away and, oh, let's say, playing vidya in his car, eventually bettering himself in the eyes of his family and loved ones in the process.

Yanno, I grew up in one of those awesome, cultural, intelligent cities Bob loves so much. I love it to death--it's full of museums, galleries, great restaurants. It's also a rampaging shithole of gun crime, gang activity, and political corruption. If society collapsed tomorrow and everyone had to fend for themselves, I have no doubt my hometown would eat itself alive in no time.
