IIRC, Bob's take on the Berkeley riots in February was basically taking the exact same approach. Claiming antifa dindu nuffin, while ignoring reality enough to retweet that there were only "small fires" at most.
You don't need cultural media analysts, they don't offer necessary services for the good of the nation as a whole. They exist much in the same way artists do, as a side effect of having a thriving society because it has become stable enough to support people who don't have to work to make sure everyone stays afloat. As much as I respect people like Roger Ebert, fact is his job wasn't exactly necessary to hold up the state of society, rather it was the other way around.
