"Even while no longer technically 'original' in and of itself, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is still more fresh and different than most anything else Hollywood will offer up over the next few months."

It never fails to impress me what a lousy writer Bob is. It's always due to the same issue: using five words for every one he actually needs, presumably to make himself look smarter. So much verbal spinach to say GotG 2 lacks the freshness of the first one.
Blob writes like a high school student desperately trying to pad out an essay.

Jesus, even his writing style is still stuck in high school.

Come on, a fat, unpleasant basement dweller with a fascist streak can't make people go "Aww"?

Oh Jesus Christ, he goes full Enter.
I found that ironic because he's one of the guys who complains about dark superhero movies because "kids won't like it/won't be able to see it", implying that they must explicitly pander to children.

Why are you trying to make me reach for the kerosene again?
Bob tries to make himself sound like a Hollywood big shot despite innumerable amounts of evidence pointing to the contrary. I remember how smugly he acted when he said Sing was gonna be a hit, when you didn't have to be Nostradamus to come to the same conclusion.

And besides, we all know the real prognosticator of prognosticators:

Good money Bobby will dismiss Dunkirk as banal feel-good patriot shlock.

I can understand if he doesn't care for war films or believes that there's too many of them on the market. But, I wonder how Bob is going to come to the conclusion that a movie about the British pulling off a military miracle is on par with good ole American patriotic schlock.

He'll probably condemn it as nationalist propaganda. Remember, this dude hates national pride and looking back on a country's past achievements. His ideal future is one where national identity takes s back seat to blanket humanism.

At least that's what he pays lip service to. Well see if he follows through.

How do I build a time machine to jump 3-4 years in the future when the MCU will likely end along with its presence everywhere? It's worse than yearly Star Wars.
B-but muh geek culture!!

This is one thing that blows my mind when dealing with specific people in geek culture: A belief that the Marvel Cinematic universe is the best thing to happen to geek culture and that it's not going to stop any time soon. As soon as the MCU gets a single stinker, things are going to start falling apart.

Is there a trope about fat people not being jolly? I'd add that to his page. And one about diabetes and losing limbs to it.

:offtopic: tbh I'm mostly talking from a salty fanboy point of view because the success of the MCU is tied to them not caring about the comics until recently when Marvel Studios broke off and putting us in a position that'll cause an even bigger crash of the whole comics industry than we had in the 90s unless they really switch direction. We get drowned out by Bob's ilk and no one cares about the source that promptly went to shit. I'm happy to watch an industry burn for the sake of Blobo getting a decade of goofy movies. Most of the blame goes to the corporate heads but for someone who talks so much about loving Marvel, he does a lot of the equivalent of giving booze to an alcoholic in celebration of their success at AA. I'm not sure if he's aware/cares how fragile this house of cards is once the fad eventually goes out of style.

Bob, the social justice thing you cling to is the whitest fucking thing I've ever seen yet in my life.

Churches have been, and still are, major sponsors for amazing architecture, art and music. But then white stuff like Gaudi, Michaelangelo, and J. S. Bach are shit right?
i wonder what kind of art and science and aversion to blandness bob and his ilk could bring.. hmm?
blank frames in art galleries because everything was offensive? science lessons being nothing more than "white ain't right! males are fail!" over and over? and every movie being "strong poc wymmyn transfox defeats the ebil white man!" and all 5 minutes long? sounds like a fucking utopia!

I agree, well that and the inexplicable popularity of giant headed Funko Pop style figures.

Churches also sponsored major Universities as well and were centers of learning for centuries. Gregor Mendel was a Catholic Monk and developed his theory on genetics and traits even before Darwin. Without the Church as a driving force, art, culture, music and science wouldn't be what they are today.

The Jesuit University system in the US is one of the strongest institutions. And the Jesuits even have a science: They were pioneers in Seismology. Its known as the Jesuit Science. There's also Gospel Music being a source for modern music as well.

To simply dismiss Churches as having no culture is ignorant. And in smaller towns, they act as support structures. That's what atheists don't get. In big cities you have major hospitals, counseling centers, soup kitchens, support groups. In small towns, the church functions as all of these because there's no where else to turn.

The truth is that atheists are more represented on the sex offender registry than they are in the sciences or arts; the French rapist and pedophile Marquis de Sade best known for writing fiction about men eating poop is a far more famous atheist than any scientist, philosopher artist of any prestige. well other than maybe Karl Marx.

Religion and culture which includes the arts, humanities, and sciences are anthropoligically interrelated, while atheism has traditionally always been associated with low class and inability to appreciate higher pleasures such as art, music, science and spirituality, in favor of materialistic hedonism and more "bestial" pleasures.

Then he shit talks Apple some more, largely due to them possibly buying Nintendo. (So much for that superior future. Also, can someone explain to me what happened between Apple and Ireland? I really don't give enough of a shit to look it up.)
Forgive me for my ignorance, but is there anything that points to this or is this just speculation? This is big news if Apple does end up buying Nintendo eventually and anything that may indicate that is something I am going to be on the top of for readings.

That being said, this makes me wonder how Bob reacted to Disney buying Marvel. Did he chimp out, declare it the second coming of Jesus, or something in between?
