As he said in one of his videos, he associates it with people who always think "the right answer must be in the middle" and thus "common sense" thinking is for dumb people to think they are intelligent when they never bother to educate themselves.

I haven't seen Bob's exact reasoning so I'll just recount other explanations I've heard for common sense being bad.

Essentially common sense doesn't have a barrier to entry and doesn't need an intellectual justification (i.e. scientific/philosophical literature) to be considered true. If you deliberately ignore common sense ideas and ONLY follow/discuss ideas with academic or literary sources then you can remove a good chunk of ideas from the marketplace right off the bat and automatically swing the discussion in a certain direction.

I think in general it's just Bob's distaste for average people and their opinions which, in general, will tend to be more conservative than his, therefore by Bob logic common sense here equals the majority opinion (or at least what he perceives that majority opinion to be).
It's also a way for Bob to swing his dick about a bit, after all he's read some Ayn Rand you know which means he's not like those uneducated proles who don't know what objectivism is, therefore clearly he can't be beaten in a forum of ideas by measly "common sense" since he's read at least 1 book and therefore his ideas must be better.

There's a much greater sense of grandiloquence and delusions of grandeur on Bob's part though. He genuinely comes off as evil at times, whereas Dobson is pathetic at best.
