I need to watch it again, though it was my least favorite of the Plinkett reviews specifically because they spent way too much time going after YouTube trash and other prequel apologists instead of analyzing the new film ... though I suppose you can't really avoid that when assessing the state of the franchise as a whole.

Fundies (and for that matter conservatives) who work or live in any lefty-dominated area learn very early on that they have to be diplomatic and pleasant to make any headway at all. Further, being eternally surrounded by people on the other side of the aisle means you have to be able to justify and defend your beliefs simply because they are so out of whack with the norm.

Bob, and lots of people like him -- not merely in belief but overflowing with self-righteousness and not especially bright -- are incapable of being diplomatic or defending their beliefs because they never have to do so. Being confronted with someone who holds different opinions isn't regarded as a chance to learn or reexamine their beliefs; it's a dreadful invasion by the Other, or straight-up heresy.

All this is just my opinion, of course, but I think it's one of the core elements of the SJW cancer, and Bob is a splendid example of it.

Nah, Adventure Time manages to keep itself grounded in its fantastical, post-apocalyptic setting involving wizards, candy people, talking dogs, sapient purple clouds, the undead, and a princess for every substance/concept. They do have LGBT characters but it's more presented as "this is an aspect of their characters" instead of "this is the only aspect of their characters." Their "Very special episode" stuff tends more towards dealing with loved ones suffering from senility, which I have yet to see your typical SJW masturbate over since it's a fairly universal problem, and deals with old people.

As for how one led to the other, Rebecca Sugar was a storyboardist on Adventure Time before writing Steven Universe.

To have that much envy and resentment to folks, more creative, stronger, smarter, and better than you in skills is a truly sad way to go in life. The truly sad part is that Bob could drop all the bitterness and having an axe to grind in his reviews and twitter to go on to enjoy some marginal success. Though Bob will never be able to drop the bitterness as that is the only thing that carried him through his life of a 37 year old man living in the basement of his brother surrounded by nostalgic crap and resentment.
