Magical Space Negroes?!?!?!

Is this like when the Harlem Globetrotters were aliens in Futurama?

What the fuck is in the water at Marvel Comics?
It's the reverse, they aren't aliens or anything. The reveal was they're already colonizing other planets and it resulted in an intergalactic empire. If it makes you feel better, remember that the guy who approved that and other silly shit was fired.

Nothing about Marvel makes me happy these days, unless you're going to tell me someone burned the offices down and salted the earth beneath.

If this is supposed to be the throne world for an intergalactic empire, where is all the gold and skulls?

They're already crying fake news if it sucks?

People probably liked Blade because he didn't go around reminding you of his ethnicity every five seconds. There weren't characters that needed to point out that Wesley Snipes was black nor did Blade have any hardships related to his race in the movie. He was just a ridiculous fanfiction-esque half-vampire ninja with a gun, and you could replace his role with anybody of any race or sex and leave the script unchanged and it wouldn't be offputting at all. Well, except that a white Blade would have black parents. But my point is that this is why people loved Blade and didn't see it as "propaganda." The Rotten Tomatoes audience score of Blade is also fairly high, so unless people somehow got more racist since the 1990's, there's probably something fundamentally off about Black Panther if its own audience score is low.

To take what Bob said into a hypothetical situation, of course you can't decide to change Blade into a woman now without angering people. People wouldn't like some random woman playing Blade because people like the already-established Blade, and arbitrarily making him a woman for no reason is like telling them the character they knew and movies they enjoyed just don't matter anymore. That's also why people dislike reboots and remakes, it's not literally just because he's a woman now. Hence the common argument that people should make new superheroes (or new franchises) to express precious and valuable diversity over appropriating (or rebooting or remaking or re-whatever) old ones since that objectively never fails in angering people, regardless of quality.

I don't know much about Black Panther but I'm willing to believe people dislike it and see it as pandering because, judging by the name, the Black Panther character relies on the fact that the character is black. That doesn't mean the movie is going to be inherently good or bad, but like I said before, that's probably why people see the movie as pandering or propaganda.

:offtopic: about Blade in the comics, he's also a weird case if you're going to use him to "represent" a group like black Americans. He's from England and was born in 1929 (not really aging because he's half-vampire). Not to mention that, as it's later shown, his father was a white guy which would disqualify him of being "black" in general in some "woke" circles. It gets weird when you think about it too much.

What this tells me is that like Supergirl, this show is going to prioritise social justice over quality writing.

While Supergirl has reduced that amount of social justice propaganda recently. It only shows that the SJW decease will jump to nearest thing. I'm dreading to watch black lightning now. But I'm sure our unfriendly neighborhood fatso will like it since he's that big of a sheep.

I can’t help but think that the media is once again simply seeking to AstroTurf in fake outrage over Black Panther in order to pimp their obscene narratives and clickbait. There has been NO western pushback because the hero is black. There has been no western pushback about any black superhero in any movie... save perhaps Hallie Berry. But I think we can all agree that between her Storm and Catwoman, she can’t act for shit. The pushback there was the public loved the characters but hated the sub par actress. Black Panther was a standout character in Civil War. Falcon was a well received joy in Winter Soldier. Blade goes without saying.

And here’s the true obscenity of the pre backed in Black Panther doing poorly = racist US white people narratives. If Black Panther tanks it will be because once again China, Russia and the Middle East refuse to show up for any black led movie that isn’t Will Smith. Bobbles knows this. But Bobbles will never admit this. Glorious people’s republics can never be racist!

Honestly I could see Bob more offended at people brushing off corporations being "progressive" and getting angry at people saying that black people dancing around on the big screen isn't going to address any real world systemic issues. He already kinda mentioned people who think that despite it being a legitimate criticism towards people who get caught up in what's clearly a cynical cash grab. What will be different about society once a Black Panther movie happens?

WARNING: He might make money. Watch with caution.

I really hope it doesn't get monetized, because having it make no money reinforces how unnecessary and autistic this whole thing is. At least the RLM reviews were never longer than the actual movie. I've said this earlier in the thread, but why would I watch a 3 and a half hour video of a guy ranting about how a movie sucks when I could just watch the movie with the same amount of time and form my own opinion? People joke, but RLM's Phantom Menace review is half as long as the movie, and was insightful to boot.

I think he sort of rounded up the whole thing; there seems to be no Part IV.

It will probably get "WE WUZ KANGS" to go mainstream at the very least.

Its telling that Marvel hasn't released a budget for the film through, maybe they are worried about people thinking that they havent put enough money behind it.

He didn't need to make it three parts to begin with. Bob took a video that only needed to be 20-30 minutes max, and tacked on an extra 3 hours, and some of it was just filler (such as him ruminating over whether he should do a Really That Good over Lord of the Rings of all things).

If you make a video that's longer than 30 minutes, it better be insightful in some way. To use a different example, Raycevick makes very long videos but he's also very knowledgeable and capable of analysis. Bob is neither of those things.
