I know how people have applied "Know-Nothing Know-it-All" trope to Bob, but I find him more the embodiment of "Small Name, Big Ego" trope. Somewhere in his seriously deluded mind he believes that he is an influential critic when he is well below the public's radar and his stint with the Escapist was probably the height of his career. I find his treatment of Piers Morgan laughable. While I may not hold Piers in high esteem, he at least had his own show on CNN and was a judge on America's Got Talent. (Just to twist the knife here, Piers does not live in his relatives' basement either.) People know his name and Bob has what? A 130K subscribers on YouTube and how many of them are "dead" accounts or detractors of his that want to keep up with his sperging? He is a dime-a-dozen YT critic and I get better commentary on pop culture from Red Letter Media or That One Video Gamer.

Also, Jirard AKA The Completionist had built up enough of a relationship with Nintendo to meet AND interview Bob's god, Shigeru Miyamoto, as well as Reggie Fils-Amie (who turned it around and interviewed Jirard.) Meanwhile, Nintendo will never give Bob the attention he desperately craves and if they did, they would immediately want to distance themselves from him after reading his tweets.

Jirard and Bob are like Gallant and Goofus. They're both fat YouTubers with beards and are obsessed with vidya. But Jirard makes an effort to keep up with the times while being professional, friendly, and well-informed. Bob...isn't any of those things.
