How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

Disney will never have a LGBT lead superhero film. Much like how they will never make an R-Rated film. Disney is all about the brand rather than the actual product. Black Panther for example got made not because a young black filmmaker wanted to tell a story with long term artistic merit. But because it was manufactured and tweaked to be appeal to every single schmuck it could. To get corporate sponsorships and Happy Meal toys. Any attempt to actually take these films in an actual bold or interesting direction such as genre shifts or hiring more risky directors or writers would mean possibly alienating a potential customer. Disney won't have that.

Why does China have an obligation to "open up" and give an American movie company money? I also wonder if Bob has anything in mind or it's the more likely "THE X-MEN ARE ABOUT PEOPLE NOT BEING LIKED AND SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE GAYS!" because he can't get his head around the concept without making it literal.

Bob saying that China won't hold out forever is exactly why he's a shit critic. China's fucking propaganda films make billions, so why should they change tact?

Also, no studio exec in their right mind would risk a box-office bomb on the mere possibility that China will somehow back down. Especially tent-pole films that are aimed at making billions of dollars.

Good critics understand what parts of filmmaking is studio driven, and what parts are driven by director's vision, and I am pretty sure that the Mahvel films fall under the 1st category.

MovieBob would have made a great provocateur if he wasn't simultaneously so cucked. I seriously don't get what his deal is. The fat fuck is an enigma to me.

If just a few things went differently in Bob's life, he probably would of excelled at something and lived a better life then he currently is. This is a reoccurring story on these threads and Bob is no exception from it.

If Black Panther is still in theatres next time I go out to the movies I might see it. If I do I'll post a review in here, and compare/contrast the stuff Bob says with my own opinion, if anyone would be interested in that.

That's the China which is still occupying Tibet and tactitly supports north korea right?

He's logically smart and studious but he's intellectually lazy and squanders his mind or rationalized weak premises (his entire political outlook is a house of cards held up by misplaced anger), he makes no attempt to exert self control on any level and not only unwilling to change but in high sabataged attempts to try and help him not be such a useless piece of shit in high school.

In a way he's a tragedy.

So, linking the wiki page he cribbed all of those from was too low effort? 50 tweets of value added for all Movie Bob followers.

Also enjoyed how he mentions he knew the first two incidents. The only person who would mention that is someone who feels a tinge of shame for passing off wiki knowledge as their own.

The funny thing is Thompson submachine guns weren't ever big sellers because they were prohibitively expensive. They were hand machined, Union-made, and incredibly complex for the era. Throughout WWII the military was trying to replace it with a lighter, cheaper, less labor intensive gun (failing with The jam-happy Reising , succeeding with the M3 grease gun). The Chicago outfit was the only significant criminal organization that used them up until the NFA passed. Hollywood contributed a lot to it becoming so iconic as a "gangster" weapon, and a lot of those used by actual gangsters weren't legally obtained.

Of course Bob still thinks it was rivers of blood in the streets then, but these events were and ARE anomalies. It's largely a pop culture and pop history based impression. Not that I expect Bob to have any connection to reality at this point.

we can't expect Bob to have a connection with fictional events either. Just justifying his politics through fictional events
