Well, its been over a year since I made this post.



It was actually my second post in this thread, but thats because I truly didn't capacitate how bad Bob was becoming.

I spent many a morning in the Fish Bowl at my alma matter drinking Starbucks and anticipating every new Game Overthinker to watch after going through several, and absolutely loving his ideas on how the game industry works. This was in April 2009. I had not discovered Chris-Chan yet.

He was my Youtube mentor, one among many. I was going through my own film phase at the time and was just interested in how Youtuber's style things up. I just thought Bob was funny, and GO was relatively simple.

I swear even back then, I thought Bob would someday have children. He had a girlfriend at the time, I swear. James Rolfe, Doug Walker, they all had a girlfriend. Bob seemed to have a nice house, and a pet rabbit. He had access to an incredible forest for a great mini-arc where Game Overthinker was on an odyssey. He was kicking Dragon Warrior Slimes for level grinding.

Bob seemed like he was straight with life.

Then he became diabetic. It was so sad.

I knew all along the Bob Chipman thread existed here, but it wasn't until that December '16 post when it truly hit me how bad Bob had become.

I remember checking some of his movie reviews out around 2013 or 2014-ish and thinking "huh, this is some decent content."
Then I checked his Twitter and immediately regretted wasting my time.

I also remember that video where he said GamerGate was an unfounded conspiracy theory before claiming GamerGate was a conspiracy invented by the right wing so they could get a foothold in gaming culture immediately after.

What I'm saying is politics are gay and obsessing over them turns you into an intolerable cunt who's impossible to be around.

So I had a dream last night where Bob was Kathy Bates and Kevin Feige was James Cann in Misery.

Basically, Bob treats Feige after an accident at his basement and claims he’s the MCU’s "number one fan". But then keeps him captive after not liking the script to Avengers 4, which presumably ends the MCU. He keeps Feige captive and makes him write scripts for endless Marvel movies while sperging about moon wheat and the Superior Future.

Yep it was a cringy as this post as you can imagine. Though I bet this is what Bob wants to do.

Yeesh. What a suck up, but as always, Bob is completely in the wrong and I wholeheartedly agree with Dr. DeGrasse Tyson here. Despite what Bob wants to believe, the MCU is not art. The only Marvel film that I see as close to a piece of art is The Winter Soldier and the rest are really a collection of popcorn flicks whose main gimmick is their interconnectivity and world building. Much of it is paint by numbers at this point though Bob has the emotional maturity of a grade-schooler and the intelligence of a thirteen-year-old (at best) so he does not mind repetition.

As for superhero films that transcend the genre, I would list Richard Donner's Superman and James Mangold's Logan as two such examples. Your mileage may vary.
