Bob as a dictator in a game is a rather interesting though. What would you use as the stand in for gamergate and mario though?

The Luminaries for the former (basically disaffected engineers and scientists who disagree with his Lysenko tier politicized science and how society is slowly collapsing), and Jumpman, an old holovid superhero from the Thinker's youth that he sees as the ideal person and who he identifies with and as.
And yes, he has worked the creator of Jumpman to death for his amusement, and then kept his mind on life-support to continue even through death.
Other quirks include a Lunar Insurgency (Obsolete farmers tired of supplying earth it's food stores), and a personal cult that the Thinker is pushing that splices himself, Jumpman, and transhuman thoughts.
I am not shitting you when I say I can see what a Chipman style future would look like.

You could easily run Bob's Superior Future in Eclipse Phase. The whole setting is a post scarcity future with tons of factions all running around. I could easily see Bob as running a small cult like dictatorship of only Harpies (people whose bodies are heavily modified to be extremely beautiful and charismatic) and bar all Olympians (super atheletes basically) from entering.
Then give the players a multitude of reasons to blow it up.

After Annihilation and Blade Runner 2049 I can't help but think that big budget films of "real" quality will be few and far between. I guess I can't blame producers for not making them when audiences by and large don't seem interested. What a pity for the rest of us.
Also to add on to what they said about woman in the film. The MeToo crowd is not talking about Annihilation because it doesn't fit their narrative. How are they supposed to bitch and whine about lack of roles for women anymore if there's actually roles for women.

If it makes Bob feel better, I think his idea is absolutely hilarious and I agree with him on wanting to see what would happen if Meme-Man went after vidya. It legitimately would be a learning experience in seeing how people react to it. You could easily point out who's just an ideologue using the medium by how they react in such a situation.

Both Hillary and Trump were anti-violent games way before the election, so either way we were fucked.
The only difference is if Hillary was president and denouncing games, Bob and co. would be agreeing that video games cause shootings. Instead we got them defending games just to go against Trump (and you can see how badly he wants to stick it to those dang gamers, but can't because then he'd be siding with Drumpf, so he falls back on the "it'll hurt the industry" excuse), even though they've been saying how sexist and violent games are for the last 5 years.
