His predictions for Avengers 4 sounds incredibly terrible as his other pitches. Also, the unnecessary X-Men reboot in the MCU is going to be compared negatively to the other films.

Also, I hate when he said that “the MCU will never end”. He foolishly thinks they are the peak of cinema when they are cookie cutter action flicks that has been done before and better.

Think about what the MCU is that Bob thinks are what makes all the MCU movies better than The Godfather, Saving Private Ryan, The Dark Knight, Goodfellas, all Stanley Kubrick movies, and Citizen Kane:

• Predictable storylines that follow the same tropes and themes while serving no purpose but to set up a future film.
• Main character(s) act like smug asshole elitists and have no emotional moments where they questioned their moral and ethical actions.
• Severely lacks tension or apocalyptic stakes in the story and action scenes.
• Tends to have surprisingly cheap, generic action scenes that lack tension and excitement. Michael Bay is seriously a better director at action than any of the MCU directors.
• The production looks like a generic CW show.
• Wastes all the great villains they have by making them shallow, cookie cutter monster of the week.
• CGI progressively getting worse with each installment.
• Lacks a icnoinc score.

Yet we are supposed to believe Bob that they are the magnum opus of cinema. Just goes to show how much of a idiot he is.

I’m going to laugh my ass off if Disney decides last minute not to buy Fox and they sell of Marvel just to see Bob act like a bitch because he won’t have anything to like then.

This is was I find amusing. I thought that this week's episode of The Flash was actually better written than Black Panther. Why? It had personal stakes, suspense, and a genuinely shocking death that actually mattered. I was more invested in the scene where Iris West faced off against the Thinker's wife than the climatic battle of BP. Hell, the Thinker is a more compelling villain than Killmonger who was nothing more than a glorified gang banger that Coogler tossed in the garbage.

Spearing aside, I doubt Bob would even touch The Flash or any of the Arrowverse show. I know the quality is hit or miss and the action is sparse compared to a blockbuster film, but there is something more satisfying about it. Being the lazy sack of lard he is, Bob would not put in the effort to dissect a work and instead only offer a superficial analysis that suits his confirmation bias.

Black panther is a little less shitty than general marvel movies, it has some mildly interesting idea's, the bad guy has something resembling depth and it's pretty visually interesting, and frankly Marvel movies are okay to watch in a by-the-numbers sort of way.
The problems arrive when you discuss the politics around the film, which tacitly admit the film doesnt have much artistic merit by emphazising how it might have a positive effect IRL without actually exploring if the movie is any good. Which in off itself implies it probably won't because empty headed action movies starring black people are still empty headed movies. This isnt a challange to the status quo it's the co-opting of dissendance by the status quo.
Bob's quite unique amoung his kin in that he's genuinly stupid enough to think these movies are good because despite his pretensions, he's genuinly very very low brow in his tastes, and not in a self-aware way-he genuinly thinks this shit is good. For all his prattle over superior this and that his tastes are the epitome of corporate mediocrity.

You'll notice something that sets Bob off is he gets upset when people say it's silly to think mega-corporations aren't just looking for profit. He legitimately believes Disney thinks of human rights issues all the time and if we just add more black people to cartoons then all the world's problems will melt away. The strangest part of it was that time he had some "can't you see we have the same enemy, you bigot?" rant in a video when comparing people who mistake their blind consumerism as something else and those who mock them for it. I don't even know how you can get that idea.

I hate Bob and I hate Shaun too - they're both smug cunts, but god damn this is funny. I still have a problem with what Shaun's saying here - he's not really criticising what Bob's saying because it's morally repugnant, he's criticising it because it's bad optics, but it's still amusing to see Bob get called out by his own side.

The thing which separates Shaun from Bob is that Shaun's actually genuinely a leftist in that he's a socialist. Bob, as has been established several times in this thread is not a leftist. Moviebob needs to convince himself that everything he spends significant time and money on is good for him. This is what makes him a bad critic- he is far too invested in things to do more than skim the surface of their problems. He is the kind of person who doesn't buy based on quality, but addictions. This leads to him making safe purchases, only supporting the biggest companies, and having fanboy arguments he's far too old for.

Some of Moviebob's old Overthinker episodes promoted purchasing obscure games to prevent the cycle of safe releases that infested gaming during the 7th generation when HD graphics, online features, the fickle, risk-averse tastes of new audiences, and greatly expanding disc sizes ballooned the budgets of games, encouraging risk aversion and preventing gaming from expanding in all the ways it could. He doesn't practice this himself, however, and continues not only buying Mario games while calling out yearly sports buyers (of technically NEWER franchises). But okay, he isn't so much interested in games, he's a film fan... which is why he has apparently seen numerous classics and still believes MCU movies are the greatest to the point where he sees them five times (not just five times, five times IN THE THEATER!)

Most gamers at least want to try another flavor. Moviebob doesn't practice anything he preaches (other than being a hardline Democrat voter- I guess conservative politicians can pretend to be Democrats and he would still vote for them). Building a Better Gamer, the episode that got me watching Moviebob, is filled with great advice about exercise and food choices- which Bob himself doesn't seem to follow at all. He actually did point out in the video that he understands the irony of a fat man telling people to exercise, but he thinks pointing things out is all he needs to do and the problems fix themselves.
