How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

Having watched the BFV reveal it's clear the woman is supposed to be: 1) Serving in a frontline unit of the British Army, and 2) Openly serving as a woman. She's blatantly not based on any women soldiers because the force she's fighting with wouldn't have let her join.

Honestly though, this shouldn't have been something Bob should have cared about. The trailer is rife with similar historical innacuracies (British soldiers wearing blue facepaint like they're extras from braveheart, no-one seems to be actually wearing a uniform, one Brit has a fucking katana on his back, and that's just in the first 40 seconds). It's pretty obvious that Dice wasn't interested in historical accuracy when they were coming up with character customisation options any more than they were when they gave everyone automatic weapons in Battlefield 1.

What a film critic probably should have picked up on though was the absolute clusterfuck of cinematography that the trailer was. Watching it a second time I'm still not sure what was going on as it seems to be a constant barrage of dramatic moments (Dismount a tank ->House fight! -> Tanks crush house! ->Get on a bike! -> Plane crash! -> Shoot fleeing Germans-> Germans are attacking from behind! ->Hit by rocket-> Evil German tries to stangle you! ->Saved by lady soldier!). The general effect is an incoherent mess of a trailer that tells me abosuletly nothing about the game other than that things exploded in WW2 and this isn't trying to be true to real life. For a gameplay trailer, the HUD is only visible for half the runtime and there are too many finely tailored interactions between characters for me to assume that even when the HUD is on I'm being shown an accurate representation of gameplay.

Then again, I guess shitting on FPS chads for not liking an FPS and being sexist is the most important thing for Chipman. God knows we can't form our own opinions without making it about whether or not something is 'progressive'.

Remember as well that Bob detests the shooter genre, ever since its inception in the 90s. He made a fair few rants about his hatred of it, especially during the peak of the modern military FPS sub-genre.

Even if Battlefield V's launch hadn't had this nontroversy with the female lead (It's obvious at least to me that DICE is pushing the multiplayer side and showing the character customization now, and I doubt the female soldier will be the PC in any potential campaign), Bob would have found something to whinge about because he hates shooters and Battlefield is the shooter brand now. Even if it was just "oh no they're going back to WW2 again," he'd have never been happy.

"Heh, stupid gamers, getting angry over dumb shit"

*Proceeds to tweet nonstop about how republicans, Trump and gamergate are ruining the earth in rage for years on end*
While complaining about more serioues shit like politics is more mature than complaining over vidya, Bob manages to make it look like those screeching over vidya when it comes to being denied his "superior future" and how people in the midwest flyover states must be evil luddites holding us all back from it.

I know what the response from Bob on the female soldier will be when push comes to shove.

"Gosh, you know games arent actually realistic right?!"

True. But this is jarring and suggests nothing is being handled with care, that other priorities take over.
Also got an alternative to it: there's also games that actually strive to be as realistic and accurate as fuck. Those games at least try to be as realistic as they can (at least with whatever technology and skill there is today). Those that sperg and cream themselves over historical accuracy would go against the idea the complaints must all be misogynist that don't want a woman if these same spergs simply want to see this diversity shit from the right angle (i.e. Harlem Hellfighters in US based fronts, a woman unit like Night Witches for the Soviet front).

If Battlefield V didn't get some autism over the hook arm lady, Bob really could of found a way to complain about the game. But since this game has a woman and poc's in it, Bob might try to skirt around with his complaints so as to not look like a racist misogynerd.

Imagine getting onto Twitter hoping to find some good jokes and hear what your favorite celebrities have to say, only to get scolded by internet Leftists into thinking that you are morally obligated to follow people like Bob who turn the would-be fun experience into some kind of moral crusade where you live constantly in fear of getting the wrong opinion or interacting with the wrong person, and that you have to listen to his proto-fascist rants in order to be politically educated.
