How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

The Oscars have no meaning anyway. Even Bob made fun of that in his review of The Kings Speech (one of the few Bob videos that I consider to be good).

The Oscars was and should be an award based on quality. Not based on popularity or pandering to the judges sense of importance. It's not just the Oscars either, but other high profile awards have since been taken over by people that care more about looking smart and diversity quotas than any actual quality.

How embarrassing, they nominated black panther and blackkklansman for best picture - drama. It’s pretty obvious they were nominated due to woke culture because each film is mediocre at best. Looking at just last years nominees and winners also proves it.

Since when has cape shit been nominated for a golden globe before in this category?

I can see Bob bloating how more significant Black Panther is that Dark Knight.

Black Panther gave us a lot of fun and interesting characters that were enjoyable to watch. It just didn’t give them anything interesting to do. It’s a great fun popcorn movie. A bog standard comic book movie on the upper end of the scale, but nothing award worthy. Not even in the technical categories such as FX. Ok I’ll maybe give you costumes. Heck Infinity War used it’s same elements and characters in a much better more interesting story later in the year. And the main character, the Black Panther himself, had a much better story, character arc and performance in the earlier Civil War movie.

Slightly :offtopic:, but I would hazard a guess that it was because T'Challa was a more active character in Civil War whereas he was less decisive in Black Panther. His character took a backseat to the world-building where the nation of Wakanda itself took center stage. I think Bob is more a fan of the concept of Wakanda (a powerful, technologically-advanced nonwhite state) than he is of the characters.

Just goes to show it doesn’t matter the skin color or sex of a character is.

In the hands of competent writers and directors, any kind of character can shine.

It’s all of that really. The woke crowd fee fees think having a black lead set in this technological/wealthy powerhouse in Africa reinforces positive set esteeem.....in African Americans who have no ties to Africa. Like zero ties to Africa. They’re Americans who know nothing about where in Africa they came from or their culture. Every African immigrant I know has said they have nothing in common with African Americans and don’tget along with them.

Let’s not forget it was Africans who sold Africans into slavery

I've always wondered about Wakanda. It's pretty obviously a 1960s riff on the Lost City trope from the 1930s, but it seems so wildly removed from real Africa and its problems it's sort of pointless.

Why the fuck invest time and energy pursuing your past instead of focusing on where you want to be in the future?
Fuck obsessive genealogy.

I don’t know, I can’t relate because I know where my family is from. I go there regularly, I know my family back several generations as does my wife. It’s nice having that sense of belonging and knowledge of my family and traditions.

I think they want that feeling of belonging but they just shut down and expect gibs thanks to decades of liberals giving them handouts and telling them that’s how they should act because of decades of racism and oppression. Liberals turned them into another slave class for votes.

Why did you mention this? Now I have to watch it.

The TL;DW is it's 10 minutes of him repeating the EA/Dice narrative without him even getting paid for it.

There's a great bit early on where he says female world war 2 cyborgs would fit in with other 8-16 bit era heroes, pointing to Alien Vs Preditor Arcade as an example as if it's comparable to an historically accurate WW2 game. What makes it great is a bit of :autism: where he describes Mario as being a plumber from Brooklyn. He really can't let that back story go can he?

But one bit that surprised me to the point where I had to pick my jaw off the floor like I was in a Tex Avery cartoon was a part where he says BFV is historically accurate, and that those complaining want the fictional World War 2 they grew up with in history class and hollywood movies. Skip to the 4 minute mark if you don't believe me. Bob has bought hook, line, and sinker into the idea that there were women cyborg soldiers and allied soldiers running around with facepaint and katanas in World War 2. He then ends the video by kind of admitting that it isn't real, but says that "throwing rainbow paint over history" isn't a bad thing.

Did Bob's "degree" not include history credits? I know that I had to take 2 history classes for my degree, but then again I went to a proper campus that's recognized across the country for being a damn good university, though not one of the ivy league schools.

There's nothing wrong with possessing a sense of belonging.
What is wrong is allowing said belongings to dictate your WHOLE identity.
And liberals didn't turn THEM into anything. Most of THEM chose the easy road (no introspection about the consecuence of their individual actions).
