this is hilarious, bob fancies himself a historian, except he doesnt even get basic information correct. Nobody thought The Iliad was nessessarily based on a true story until somebody found what could have been the ruins of Troy. Even then, most people don’t think the war would be anything like Homers epic. What the Iliad does show us are the values, the items, the beliefs, the politics, the war fighting, tactics and the lifestyles that the poets considered valuable enough to write down. That’s what Smokey and the bandit and Vice will be used for, there is a glut of information on the internet alone, and does bob really think that we don’t write down who was our president and Vice President? Bob misses the fact that future generations will have millions of data points to sift through to put together the average 21st century life, all because he wants to make a joke about dick Cheney being fiction. On a side note, if he wants a better version of “this might have happened way differently than what we think we know,” then we have a much better history point. The sources for the end of the second Punic war are limited to mostly Roman in nature, and god knows that they could easily be writing biased accounts of their hated rival. But of course Bob wouldn’t know this because he’s not a historian and should stick to just misinforming people about film.

It doesn't have to be literally that. The Crew didn't have you climbing towers, but the mechanic was still there. I think the criticism of it is overblown, but it is a symptom of AAA publishers relying on copy-paste game design.

Though I think it's worth pointing out that it was a common criticism 5 years ago. Bob a bit late on that band wagon.

This whole "games should be shorter" debate is something from years ago.

Basically, since most of generation x and millennials were reaching the age where they had full time jobs and kids and found they didn't have the time to put dozens of hours a week into RPGs like Skyrim and were quickly left behind in multiplayer games like Call of Duty. There were also lazy game reviewers who didn't want to spend 10-100 hours playing a game for review when a movie or music reviewers only needed to spend a fraction of the time.

This caused obvious friction between people who wanted longer games, and those that wanted shorter.

While there's never an official answer, I think the logical answer won out. Games should be as long as they need to be. I'd take 2 hours of quality content (Portal) over 250 hours of filler (any level grind RPG) while still enjoying 500 hour epic RPGs like Skyrim.

Funny enough his suit was added to the game recently. If that doesn't convince him of actually playing the game. Then it only strengthens the known fact of him being a Raimi fan rather than a Spidey one.
