Well, I never watched GOT and probably never will. But I can kind of understand why fans are going into the finale so pessimistic. It seems like the general consensus is that this entire final season has been lackluster and the penultimate episode in itself is arguably one of the worst episodes of the show. They don't have much to look forward going into the grand finale.

Also, wasn't there a genuine sense of optimism and positivity going into The Phantom Menace? I was a little too young to fully take it in, but reading up on things from that time period seems to indicate that everyone was overjoyed for this film. It was only after they saw it that the fans started turning on it.

Yeah, people were incredibly hyped for it. Most fans had purchased a pile of merchandise before the movie had even been released. Plenty of people knew we had been sold a shit sandwich halfway through the film, it didn't take ten or twenty years for people to decide to lie and say they always hated it. People didn't shit where they ate as much back then, so people tended to not make a big a fuss, just ignore all prequel shit or drop out entirely. For several years I was still getting Padme shit as gifts and sending that crap directly to the basement with a .

Of course the Democrats are going to crash and burn if they adopt the strategies Bob and his cohorts espouse. They see world only in extremes and it never occurs to him that there are Republicans and independents who dislike Trump that could be watching Fox News. Given Bob's massive ego and sense of entitlement he does not believe that he has to persuade people see his viewpoint. They should just accept it as gospel because he fashions himself as a member of the intellectual elite because he reviews pop culture ephemera without actually contributing to culture as a whole (no one remembers the guy who reviewed Shakespeare's plays, friendo.) Any sane person would naturally be repulsed by this and stay the fuck away. The Democrats have taken a hard left and are having a meltdown that makes Chernobyl look like a small house fire.

I feel that's unfair, Tywin had a cold solid logic to his actions, he didnt give a single fuck about the peasents but he didnt really have a proactive disdain for them. Tywin was an actual pragmatist in that his horrible actions are motivated by clear aims and objectives, for example the horrific red wedding was ultimatly about ending a war against an enemy he was struggling to defeat and ultimatly worked really well.

Twyin would take on look at US politics and begin considering how exactly he's going to make himself or his chosen candidate president. If it doesnt pan out that campaign, he isnt going to bitch or cry but you're going to have to watch the fuck out for him campaign season after campaign season. Because he'll just come up with a new plan to get the common man to vote for him

Those are some good choices but I would go with Merret Frey. Not only a member of one of the most pathethic houses in all Westeros but also a guy that was the lowest even amongst his relatives. He was useless even at getting drunk and had no virtual stakes at inheriting any title.

Personally I thought it was a reference to "Bud the CHUD" (specifically from C.H.U.D. II: Bud the CHUD) from horror/comedy movies. Bud the CHUD is a zombie, so it's my guess that the "CHUDS" = wasteland ghouls, in other words, zombies.

Fun random fact: conservative pundit Jonah Goldberg LOVES to bring up "chuds" at random times, and he's admitted it's a direct reference to that particular B-movie. He's also referenced that a lot of his pop culture references are drawn from a misspent youth watching broadcast channels replay old movies and TV shows.

Given that Jonah grew up in New York, I would bet that Bob had similar exposure to a similar cultural landscape growing up and is so very likely to be referring to the CHUD b-movie.

From an objective standpoint, the Democrats going of Fox News can only help them. My current view of the Democratic party is akin to the communist parties of eastern Europe/Asia where someone accidentally breaking a piece of factory equipment is considered to be "reactionary sabotage."

Plus, a lot of Trump's Democratic supporters were employees in the manufacturing industry that were worried about how the Trans-Pacific Partnership would send their jobs to countries that pay their employees sweatshop wages. Throw as much party rhetoric at them as you want. Anyone who's proud of the fact that they sweat their asses off just so they can provide for their families knows that voting for politicians who want to send their jobs to the Philippines is a terrible idea.
