Personally I think he already realizes this, at least on a subconscious level. But instead of accepting that it might be his own fault, he blames it all on the people he already hates and the end result is his twitter sperging. At this point he's too far up his own ass to ever improve and he'll likely get more angry and bitter until the day he dies.
I'd probably debate the "non-state" part considering the MCU Avengers was a SHIELD thing and not something a bunch of vigilantes made up on their own. They're independent since Civil War but most of the MCU had them as official agents of the US government......just ones that dress funny.
Nah, i will say he's lazy. He was lazy before and he's lazy now. After all, better keep hogging that insulin and being a fat fuck rather than doing exercise and changing your diet. If he is too lazy even to change his eating habits he's too damn lazy to change his life.

Not what I'm talking about, the origin of the Avengers as a group in the MCU is lifted from "The Ultimates" and their shtick was being government agents. The main difference is the Ultimates weren't framed in a positive light and were Mark Millar sperging about America playing world police...meanwhile the MCU takes the same origin and goes straight into happy Joss Whedon times with little of the darker implications.
I miss that Avengers, Stark's pissing matches with Fury in the Earth's Mightest Heroes cartoon were awesome.
