Bob, there is NO SUCH THING as progress. Evolution is a reactive force - human psychology adapting to changing conditions, which affect human psychology going into the future, which causes said humans to alter their environment even further. To Progressives like Bob, "Progress" is a white country offshoring all of its heavy industry, opening its borders, doling out free welfare and cheap jobs to illegals while jailing its own native citizens for "hatespeak" if they complain about foreigners driving down wages and driving up the cost of living. Know what else is a reactive force, Bob? Backlash. Like the kind of backlash that happens when a group of people who've been screwed over by their own government vote for a candidate that actively promotes their own interests. (Which is something that YOU call "racist," Bob.) Life isn't a video game. A country doesn't stay stable just because it's people have reached a certain "Level." And complex civilizations that rely on interconnecting trade routes, a constant influx of resources, and just-in-time supply chains have a tendency to go "Kablooey" rather quickly once a wrench has been tossed into the works.
