Major urban centers in America (e.g. Chicago, New York City, San Francisco) have been run almost exclusively by Democrats for the better part of a century. Without exception, each one is a crime-ridden shithole (a literal shithole in San Francisco's case). Yet, to Bob, the fact that they are run by Democrats and the political left makes them inherently superior to the more stable, prosperous, shit-less parts of America run by Republicans. In his mind, people who believe a certain ideology are the ubermensch and thus inherently superior to the untermensch (and he, naturally, is one of the ubermensch who deserves his moon wheat, dammit).

Funnily enough, some of the issues in the more rural places that keep losing population in the Midwest/Plains are ALSO caused by virtual one-party rule, at least locally

So this year's Black Panther for Bob is an adaptation of a work that's already been adapted to death, that has gotten very little buzz or excitement outside of the film snob crowd, and most importantly he hasn't even seen yet, just because woke women are involved in its production.

2019 didn’t have any Black Panther type movie for him to boot lick. Captain Marvel could be one but most people including himself were like meh.
