I think there's an argument to be made that classical Greeks looked down on the archer compared to the hoplite; there's a distinct feel that when Paris took out Achilles, Achilles fell to someone not quite worthy of the honor. Still, there's nothing that suggests the bow was considered feminine.

There's Arjuna the "peerless archer" from Mahabharata, who spent some time either as a woman or posing as a woman, but Bob certainly isn't that literate.

Late to the party but I am jumping in right here. 1.) those are recurves, as has already been pointed out. Archery with a modern recurve actually differs a lot from longbows, especially primitive and traditional longbows. The draw is smoother, the draw technique is completely different as is the release. Add in finger tabs and or releases and it becomes a totally different ball game from traditional longbow archery.

2.) Both in the Hunger Games and in that pic they used target recurves. I'd bet good money that the max draw weight of those bows is MAYBE about 30 lbs. Hunting longbows hover around 55 to 65 lbs draw weight almost twice what the archers depicted are pulling. English War Bows have been estimated to range from 135 to 185 lbs draw weight. Those required men from England to train from the age of 4 to even draw those damn things back. That to me sure as shit does not say "Women's weapon."

Stay the fuck out of Archery Blobbo, unless it's to put a broadhead through your own eye.

I've seen that before with some others (usually a high correlation to Wesley Crusher fans) who claim they were always hated because they're smart. I've usually had to explain to them: "No, you were hated because you jumped into a conversation with a bit of trivia that was ultimately pointless and not-relevant to the conversation."

For one, Adams never mentioned any sort of distinction between the people affected by the virus, as it would be stupid, because regardless of politics, we all get sick just the same.

I know the argument is that the Corona stuff affects large urban areas, meaning, the superior democrats, so the galaxy brain here thinks that opening the economy is some sort of political driven retaliation against the superior, evolved americans.

And then there is the part that Robert knows the "awnser" he would find acceptable to re-open the economy, meaning, the death of few hundred thousand from Trump country. Robert tries to act as if he "wouldn't do it" because it is a terrible act to do so considering the death of people, but then again Adams, or anybody else, makes that distiction, nobody "wants" anybody to die, but people die regarless, the regular influenza kills as many people a year, and so there is this argument that the countries shouldn't completely get into lockdown otherwise it can create a problem far greater than the pandemic.

So in a bizarre show of hands, Robert just revealed that, based on political inclinations that aren't that distinct from each other, he find it is ok for a group of people to be acceptable to die, even if Robert "wouldn't really do it".
