And on that note, I was curious why this board hasn't been mirroring any of his videos in a good while. So, I checked his YouTube. The last video he made was his Really That Good: Star Wars, four months ago. Everything else has been him re-uploading his old Big Picture videos.

So, how is this guy pretending that if he "doesn't work he doesn't eat"? He hasn't created contents in months. I think he's been listening to the "take a nap" voice for months now.
That's pretty incredible for a professional, university-educated film critic if you think of it. There's a whole world of cinema out there, enough to watch a movie a day for a lifetime and still have only sampled what's out there. But Bob has no interest in making videos about any of it if it isn't the latest American mainstream big-name disposable pop culture crap. Even when he's throwing tantrums about how he's worried that he'll starve (LOL), it never even occurs to him to broaden his horizons and make videos about something out of his usual niche, so at least he'll get some viewers. And he can't even bitch about the quarantine that's deprived him of his regular garbage, because the Woke party line is "quarantine good, orange man bad"! Truly a self-inflicted quandary that he's in. Very autistic.

You know what? Kevin Murphy, of MST3K fame (Tom Servo), actually did that and wrote a good book about it. In his case, he made a point of going to a movie theater everyday and talk about the experience. Kevin Murphy's aim was to show that the standard American cinema theater is a low-grade way to experience a movie in theater, that there's better ways to do it.

MovieBob could do the same thing (especially since he once wrote an article complaining about the theater experience given to movie critics). Especially with these quarantine measures in place. I felt sure that he must be uploading videos like, "Best movies to watch in quarantine" or something like that.

But, no. Let's re-upload videos from almost ten years ago, instead.

I dunno why he's so fucking cagey about it, if Bob wants to show off how educated he is by demonstrating his knowledge that Rand was socially progressive and hated Reagan for inviting the pro-life crowd into the Republican party, he should just say it instead of this paragraph of convoluted autistic drivel. Redirecting it to "if you don't know this, you don't know women!" in service of Bob's dedication to portraying himself as some kind of woman guru is one of his most pathetic LARPs.
Bobby tries to insinuate that he's talked with feminist Democrat women. We know that couldn't possibly happen because he'd have been #MeTooed in no time.

There are still Netflix bullcarp for your daily dose of disposable pop-culture fix, but I guess if it isn't Disney then Bobby isn't interested.

But what if these movies have messages that weren't run through the corporate/left wing sloppofication machine, do you want Bob to experience unsanitized, non-sterile movies?

To be fair, most of his current content is produced for the Escapist and uploaded to their channel instead. It usually does get mirrored here, but not always.

You're right, though, he really doesn't have any excuse not to be making more stuff for his channel too. Nowhere to go, nothing else to do, a plethora of movies or TV shows available on streaming (or other less-legal methods)...Bobby could be using the pandemic as a chance to start some new projects he'd been putting off, or produce some shorter videos that aren't more than simple recommendations. He could be putting forth effort to grow his channel and reverse the slump he's been on.

But that's too much work for him, much easier to put forth the bare minimum for his employer (while they still exist) and then sleep the rest of the day. And he still doesn't realize his problems are entirely his own fault.

Going by his track record im guessing he scanned the wikipedia article of Atlas Shrugged after playing bioshock/reading a review for bioshock and decided to latch onto some shallow mall-ninja tier pretend objectivism as his edgy fedora phase worldview and his personal justification for babbling about how everyone not part of his cultural/intellectual elite was a subhuman parasite who should be purged from society as part of his autistic revenge fantasy against the high school jocks

Come woke schtick becoming trendy and he stopped talking about this pseudo-objectivist schtick but never bucked the "PARASITES ARE DRAGGING THE BUILDERS OF THE FUTURE LIKE ME DOWN!" rhetoric that so appealed to him, and instead twisted the woke demagoguery to reinforce it in his mind and in his rants

As for why he couldnt bring himself to drop the pretend-objectivist twaddle he only ever cared about as a pretext for douchebag edgelord rants against his high school enemies even after it became a massive liability to his reputation with the breadtube kewl kids klub well....thats where the autism comes in. Unlike functional and cynical grifters who latch on to woke schtick, blobby boy has a tendency to pour in all his personal grievances and grudges and overall bitterness into whatever bandwagon he jumps on to, which makes him infinitely more obsessive about clinging on to it even if he doesnt give two shits about the cause in and of itself.
Before the Rand topic drifts away here when Bob awakens to gift us more autism rage tweets.
I never got caught up in the whole Objectivist fad of the 00s where all the YT atheists loved to mention her, I did follow some who'd bring her up (not because I wanted to follow atheists but because at the time of early 2010's they were also being critical of turd-wave feminism since they were being infiltrated as Thunderf00t was chronicling at the time and mildly fascinated how it got to a fever pitch over something like some one as fugly as Rebecca Watson beings asked out for coffee on an elevator of all things for that community to be bitterly divided, little did I know) and how it molded their libertarianism which seemed like everyone had a different definition for that and I just couldn't untangle it at the time nor did I really care. But I also noticed something rather deliberate in media after 2013 or so, that she was actively being dumped on, not just by other YTers but those in the big leagues. Colbert and John Oliver especially were putting out smear segments on her at the time (I'm sure they still do now with Token Noah on TDS and that rat lady Samantha Bee on her "Emmy Nominated" show), almost like their writers had taken notice online or spend too much time on 4chan perhaps (IDK where she was popular to talk about online back then) hell even in Comics. Alan Moore, a writer I usually like for his body of work OUTSIDE of Watchmen had apparently thrown shade at Steve Ditko (co-creator of Spider Man among others) for putting Objectivist philosophy into his stories..coming form someone like AM is kinda pot-calling-the-kettle-black given the crazy stuff he believes in.
But in a recent video by the real Anti-Bob, Razorfist, he played a speech by Rand talking about "the New Left" and gotta say, juxtaposed with the cliched images of blue-haired woke-drones and articles, she may have well been another mythical tragedy of Cassandra in the 21st century since she appeared to have called a lot of what I see today:
I know, ingore the Bernie subject thumbnail, he does go into Rand's speech midway.

I'm going to be nice and offer some editing tips real quick. 1) See above? Why does anyone need that? If you really want to overshare about yourself, put it in a spoiler tag at least to save time for readers. 2) Asides? If they grow to paragraph length, the ask yourself 3 questions: 1. Can I shorten it? 2. If no, why can't this be its own paragraph? 3. Wait, does this really need to be here? Like your first '( )' could have been "I found elevatorgate fascinating" while the second could be "bet they still do."

3) Just make it a personal challenge to refer to yourself less often. And not just you, nearly every freakin' millennial I come across I want to slap with that. But really try not to use "i/me/myself/etc" in a discussion. And if you find a sentence or point won't make sense that way, then that's your clue to probably let it go. After your habit is broken, then we'll revisit using the words.

EDIT: But I agree rand's words quoted in the video are worth listening to.

Thanks, guess it shows what a noob I am here, haven't been active at a message board myself in a while.

I don't think he even likes his job. He's of the age where him and his brother, and his brother's friends, watched Kevin Smith movies and thought that was the height of intellectual and cultural sophistication. I seriously just had the thought pop in my head that his "MovieBob" moniker is playing off of Kevin Smith's "Silent Bob". He went to college thinking he was going to write scripts, or make movies, with big brained ideas like "Care Bears, but Paradise Lost" and make a mark in the world. But he's dumb and has no talent. Now his job is what amounts to a book report and becoming less and less useful. He just wants to do the bare minimum reviewing the newest big movie, and hopes he gets a government that will give him free money so he can rant on Twitter. He never had any interest in actually critiquing the art of film making, he just wants to tell people he liked a movie, and the actress is super hot and he wishes he could have sex with her.

I think the turn against Ayn Rand is due to the rise of Ron Paul and Libertarians turning young people online to the Republican party. Evangelical Neo-cons was become less of the boogie man the Left needed them to be. The Left needed to double down hard with feminism and identity politics because Libertarians are liberal leaning on the social issues Democrats were supposedly for.

plus the fact how [Bob] was defending to the death the brilliance of Sucker Punch and Scott Pilgrim, two movies that made me both cringe and filled with misanthropic rage (for Scott Pilgrim cause every character I hated and wanted to chaingun away like I was DoomGuy,
Did somebody say Scott Pilgrim?

lol, Bob smug about that automation which is still years off vs his pateron backed gig that is dwindling near dally iirc made worse by a virus and his constant bs and inability to upload new content when the slop mill stops spinning out more colorful cape fests in bite sized chunks

I'm honestly surprised none of the BreadTubers or leftists on Twitter who have beef with Bob have called him out on his fedora atheism yet.

They've called him out on his eugenics stances and his rants against the Mayonnaise Ghouls, but a lot of what underpins his hatred for the red states is the fact he is a hardliner anti-theist with a seething hatred of the Bible Belt.

You think one of the BreadTubers would use it as an insult on Bob at Twitter just to see how he would address them, but if they have, I must have missed it.

Granted, the average SJW is every bit as militantly atheist and have massive hate-boners for Christianity as the fedora men do, but they also hate the fedora men almost as much as the fundies, if not just as much or more.

Really, anti-theism is the very foundation for most of his worldview alongside petty childhood vengeance and "Thinkers vs. Believers" really epitomizes that.

I mean he pretty much has a hatred for Christians as much as Hitler did for the Jews, but it's Christianity so it's alright.

Fair point. In many ways, the SJW's hate Christianity even more than the fedora crowd does. Especially the AnComs, the tankies, and the radfems, who are the groups most likely to condemn MovieBob.

Now, if Bob started explicitly mentioning Muslims as part of the "Believers" crowd, then I could see him definitely getting a lot of flak over that. However, I think even Bob is smart enough not to openly criticize Islam.

Unless Naomi Wu starts to go out and explicitly endorse the CCP's brutal repression of its Muslim population or one of the bigwig Sunni clerics declares a fatwa against Marvel, I don't see Bob denouncing Islam in the immediate future.

Also, attacking Judaism is a no-go unless it's to criticize Israel or as part of a larger attack on Christianity (which gets its concepts of morality and degeneracy from laws found in the Torah) and as far as I know, Bob hasn't said much about Israel or Zionism one way or the other, so I doubt that would even cross his mind.

He could attack neopagan and occult traditions since you do have a lot of Alt-Right types in those groups (Varg Vikernes, Augustus Sol Invictus) but you also have a lot of SJW's in the more Wicca-influenced traditions too, and that's assuming Bob even knows any of these sects exist. Plus, they're a lot smaller and largely unimportant compared to atheism or the Abrahamic traditions.

So I don't think Bob will ever attack Islam unless something really drastic happens and he slips up and then tries to do a half-assed retraction like he does with the eugenics posting.

As much as Bob is a dumbass, Bob is smart enough to not say shit about the wrong group and the amount of shit to say about the right (wing) group.
