I'm sure they made him watch classic cinema when he was in college (he minored in Film Studies Communications). I only took one film class, a 101-level introductory class, years ago, but they had us watch a bunch of classic movies including Citizen Kane (which is the sort of thing that Bob would never choose to watch on his own). Ironically, one of the films that they will definitely have anyone watch is the original Birth of a Nation which glorifies the KKK, because it introduced much of modern cinema. They mentioned that after it came out, that a whole shitload of people went out and joined the KKK after seeing it, which probably contributes an awful lot to Bob's contempt for the white majority and determination that only movies with the "correct" messaging should be allowed to be made.
