it's probably arguable that to praise a kid and call them smart (especially when they clearly are a sped or smoothbrain exceptional) when they've done nothing to deserve such praise is as damaging as the other extreme. You don't tell a kid they're stupid if you're a parent (except maybe once in a while in anger); it's better to let it be proven to the kid that they're stupid. I’ve had a nagging feeling for a while that something very dark happened to Bob to make him this fucked in the head. I agree that eSports have a physical toll as well as working on a computer like in coding or digital art, though is more mental exhaustion since you spend hours focused actually trying to improve/do your job correctly. His fixation on intelligence (and lack thereof), as well as his hyper-sensitivity about his own perceived intellect and knowledge, has led me to believe someone significant in Bob’s life told him from a young age that he was stupid. That tweet about the communion wafer launcher is doubly stupid because many Protestant churches also use communion wafers for convenience's sake. If there's nobody at the church that wants to bake bread, wafers are pretty much the way to go. I bake bread for my church, but even so, we still use wafers at smaller services to get through communion faster. Hell, you can even buy pre-baked, pre-broken communion bread squares if you want the convenience of wafers but hate the papery taste.

It's hard to say what happened with Bobby's beliefs. He calls himself a "lapsed Catholic," but that just says to me "too lazy to bother going to church once he wasn't forced to anymore." So many internet atheists have this undercurrent of "fuck you dad" that makes their euphoric postings rather comical. With Bob, I think he just can't be bothered to get out of the house for any kind of religious services. Doesn't hurt that his sleep schedule means he'd miss pretty much every Mass. (There's a joke here somewhere about Bobby's own mass, but I leave that as an exercise for the reader.)
