People mistake "cohesively if not creatively designed" and "competently put together" for good if you mix it in with some jokes and CGI battles. There are some great superhero movies, but the only MCU film I really think is any good is the first Iron Man. I feel like, they range from dull and forgettable to Star Wars prequel bad. I meant the Thor movies even have Natalie Portman as the love interest for maximum prequel awfulness.

The popular opinion as well as my own think the majority of the films are good then again i may just be a consumer. None of them are in my top ten of all time they were just enjoyable films imo.

I’m not a film buff by any means and I’ve only seen a couple of Marvel films (Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy). With each of those, I remember thinking, well, that was fun! But the masturbatory/life-and-death angle millions of men have on them never made sense to me. Love what you love and let no one shit on you for it, and also realize it’s not that fucking deep or serious.

There's nothing to be ashamed of by enjoying movies that could be considered to be "plastic", "dumb", "shallow" and "cheap" etc. I myself enjoy plenty of movies that are widely regarded by many as being the dumbest shit ever put on the big screen, such as Zack Snyder's "300", for example. Another movie that I love is James Cameron's "Avatar", which gets shit on constantly, yet I regard it as one of my favorites. As long as you understand what the movie is not, then it's all good. If we take Snyder's "300" for example, then as long as you're not under the impressions that it's a movie which is more or less the epitome of social commentary and cultural achivement, made by the intellectual elite of our world and the common man's betters, then all jolly good. You get a gold star if you don't sperg 24/7 on the Internet about how these movies are comparable to, say, ancient epics (of which you incidentally know nothing about), and extend whatever highschool silliness you believe about the blockbuster movies onto modern politics!

My problem with the Marvel movies at large is that they don't elicit any particular feeling from me. I can't dismiss the notion that it might in part be simply because I'm older, and have lost some interest in mainstream pup culture at large, but overall I'd say that it's because they lack substance; even the kind of substance that can make an otherwise "cheap" movie to be good, or even great. To me, they're simply sapless, weak and unexciting to such a degree that I just don't quite understand the commotion around them. I suppose it's as "The Shadow" says though; that it's mostly just marketing coupled with the consistent nature of the project itself. The way people like Robert worship these movies is just sad to the point of almost being worrisome.

The political ideology that comes closest to Bob's warped worldview would be Objectivism, which isn't really a surprise when I believe he used to praise Randian philosophy (if someone can pull a quote on that, I'd appreciate it). In Bob's mind, the parasites are anyone that reminds him of his high school bullies (real or imagined), who he believes are draining resources away from the enlightened thinkers that are pushing society forward to the Superior Future™. He's made tweets to this effect as well, stating that red states are an overall drain on federal taxes and that the blue states are doing all the heavy lifting, with the not-so-subtle and sometimes outright stated notion that they should be cut off and left to die.

Bob, of course, is a simpleton who doesn't understand exactly why a lot of money goes to these areas. It's because they contain the resources that keep the urban areas running, so logically you'll want to support them so you have food on your plate and power to your home no matter where you live. It's a quick argument but most of the federal spending in red states comes from healthcare and social services to old reitred faggots that pozzed the blue states and fled once shit had hit the fan. Basically, the boomer tax.
