This tweet, right here, is like the embodiment of everything that is bob.

Like, I can't get over that. This retard must be shunned by every single person in RL except his mutant bloated lard family. It's like, legit impossible someone can be this much of a egotistical faggot.

In the concept (kids on island killing each other) and in quite few of the story beats.
Battle Royale, though, concetrate more on the interpersonal drama between the kids themselves. Creating from highschool drama, most of the killings. This also follows from the kids sent in Battle Royale are full complete class and not some "single chosen people from each of the districts".
So the political overtoones are very different and lies in the subtext of Battle Royale. Unlike in Huger Games where they take center stage.
The politics of Battle Royale 100% different from Hunger Games (though the film version of BR omits the politics for the most part, though the second less popular BR film haphazardly tries to draw a Bin Ladin metaphor to the characters from the first film that survive). You have to read the original novel or manga to get most of the backstory

Battle Royale takes place in an alt timeline where Japan outlasted the Nazis/Italians to be the last man standing in the Axis Power. Rather than nuke Japan into submission, America and other nations basically cut a deal ceding to Japan all of Asia to run as they see fit.

As such, Japan is a modern, prosperous dictatorship in the middle of a massive baby boom. But the new generation of Imperial Japanese types are rebelling and American influences are seeping in and you still have stuff like teenage gangs and such forming even with a dictatorship in charge. And with a lot of kids flooding the job marketplace, you have the rise of NEETS and unemployed young adults harming the image of Japan being prosperous and everyone being taken cared of.

So the Battle Royal came about; every year a random high school class is pitted to fight to the death while the results broadcasted on TV. Participation is mandatory and in the manga, a teacher is raped and murdered when she was caught trying to get several of her favorite students to avoid going on the school trip where the class was grabbed. The winner, while heavily traumatized, gets into the college of their choice free of charge and a guaranteed salary-man job. It also gives the public a good dose of fear that their kids can be grabbed and killed to keep them in line, while also providing a gruesome shit show that keeps the NEETS happy and sated.

Battle Royal's backstory though isn't as critical as Hunger Games is with regards to the worldbuildng. Hunger Games's worldbuilding and the backstory of the colonies/capital and the class warfare aspects are more important than the actual game. As stated, the BR movie (which is the most iconic version of the story) just makes briefest of brief note towards the backstory so they can get to the game and kids killing games. The second BR film DOES try (and badly at that) attach some political backstory with the survivors of the first film forming a Taliban/Al Quada type group to bring down the dictatorship and "how both sides in the conflict are bad" rhetoric. But it was so badly received it basically killed Battle Royal as a viable franchise in Japan, with the studio owning the rights to the two films wanting too much money/a big budget theatrical release, kept it from catching on in the US; though the manga and novel DID get released in English before BR1-2 finally did see the light of day in the US via an official release.

I really do like how his defense is "Why are people picking on me rather than those weirdos who associate brunch with women and gay people?" when that's actually what they're doing by saying "What the hell are you talking about?" back at him. He doesn't even try to point towards any outside examples of this being a thing outside him.

This fat retard spent a whole day fuming and trying desperately to avoid taking a loss. The fact this mongoloid has the patheticness to think it was satisfying shows how desperate he is to refuse to just say these words.

"I was wrong".

No wonder he just spends his days drunkenly crying online. I'd fucking kill myself if that was the highlight of my day. That or send myself to a tard home since I'm clearly too stupid to live by myself.

That's one of the best parts about following Bob. Whenever he puts out a garbage take that rightly gets backlash (so, pretty much all the time), he always doubles down. Always. He never thinks "huh, maybe they have a point, maybe I was wrong," he just immediately fires off more tweet screeds about how he's so smart and we're just too dumb to understand his brilliance. He doesn't even just ignore it, which would still do him a much bigger favor. Nope, he's gonna die on that hill, every single time.

Like this example. The idea of the foppish aristocrat is centuries old and heavily ingrained within culture, and anyone with half a brain could look at that and understand that that's what the filmmakers were going for. The elites in the Capital lived a life of decadence, and one need only look at the bizarre things that come out of fashion shows to see what they'd use to flaunt their wealth. It's so basic that it doesn't need explanation, it's a decent example of visual storytelling.

Bob, on the other hand, thinks that "crazy fashion = gay." Real galaxy-brain take there.

I also like how he completely glosses over the fact that the "media" the Capital produces involves children violently murdering each other for the elites' amusement. Yeah, no, I'm sorry, forced child murder definitely constitutes evil to me.
Now that I think about it, wanna bet that Blobbo thinks the "foppish aristocrat" stereotype is a modern invention to smear the cultural elites to be decadent, useless, and effeminate, and that the real aristocrats were the class-that-mattered until the proto-MAGA-chuds went chopchop on them?

Wasn’t it similar to Battle Royale?

Many people today follow the incredibly stupid trend of never acknowledge that they are wrong or that they were wrong. It's amazing how far someone is willing to dig themselves into a whole just to never admit that they were wrong about one thing because in their minds it translates in "I'm a laughingstock for being wrong" or the "I was wrong once i will be wrong all the time".

But in the case of Bob, i just think it's because he's a filthy pompous asshole.

Bob reminds me a lot of HP Lovecraft sometimes. Both were stuffy shut-ins from the east coast with a love of fantasy stories, a bigotry against "lower-class" people and outsiders, a reverence for a somewhat-mythical "elite" class they view themselves as a part of (via pedigree, intellect or just mindset) despite the fact that neither was is/was a part of that in-group. Both Bob and Lovecraft lived humble lives with low-incomes and shitty homes and wanted to be seen as upper-class elites when they really weren't. During HP's lifetime he didn't see much success or recognition, just like Bob. However, after his death, HP became probably the most famous horror writer of his era.

That's pretty much where the similarities end, though. Because unlike Bob, Lovecraft was actually a very social person, had a wife and a stepdaughter and most importantly, was actually very talented. The works he produced were extremely unique, whereas Bob's videos are derivative shit.

Lovecraft also had legitimate mental issues which fueled his work, and actually began changing his views at the end of his life. Bob, however, can be summed up with the words "To die rather than to change my mind."

He is a product of his flaws. For him, to admit defeat would be letting the people that bullied him win. For him, that would be a fate worse than death. He rather be acknowledged as a monster than letting the people he hates to see his most vulnerable side once again.

That's why he has these fantasies about enforcing tyrants or throwing the other side into gulags. Bob lives with hatred and anger toward the past. And one day, that fire will dwindle from his heart. Leaving him an empty husk. That will be a fate worse than death. Not what his pride THINKS is.

Its pretty clearly to me that they already won and they've been winning every single day he wakes up in the morning, but they're still the most important thing in his mind and heart and all he thinks about all day. They control every waking thought he has and how he treats people to this very day. The only way he'll ever beat his bullies is to realize the damage they've done to his psyche and worldview and start undoing it. But I don't have very high hopes for that.

Bob gives a shout out to Sarah, kinda, after picking a fight about how being governed by faceless corporations is a good thing actually.

Typical, overplayed "states that matter" follow up.

"My overweight sister-in-law somehow caught the coof, somehow didn't give it to anyone else in her house, and recovered just fine so your rights are null and void, fucking invertebrates!"

My favorite parts are how he locked (I don't know what you actually call it. It's where you limit who can reply to it.) the tweet because he, again, mislabeled something as eugenics and his continual claim that he has friends let alone colleagues, the same colleagues that NEVER come to his aid when he does something stupid.

I suspect he is wrong on both counts, but I've never seen the Hunger Game films so I withhold my judgement. And, of course, conflating the real-life political affiliation of the lead actress with that of her character is galaxy-brained Media Studies.
Bob is unintentionally touching on the "being able to 'afford' being LGBT is a sign of living in prosperous and decadent times" narrative and it's hilarious.

I come back to see nothing has changed in the blobs day-to-day after being fired from the Escapist.

You hear about drab Mao suits and the "Eight Model Operas" that were the only allowed stage works under Mao? Capitalist propaganda!

The duckfaced @arkle (here he is responding to Bobby's "Eating prepared food is elitist!" repartee) and @Lass_Library seems to be the most noisome fans of Bobby. I don't have the heart to dig their Tweeters though.
So many familiar faces: This Duck Dodgers tool, Truemetis and his overweight Appa, the ex-cellphone twitter account that now does nothing but retardidly go to bat for Bob, the one guy who has the angry emoji avi and is always super angry in his rabid "defense" of Bob who's name I can't remember, and Bob's aunt, I think, who lives in Tennessee, I think, with her acorn avi who's name I also can't remember (Bob usually responds to her and not vice versa. It's like seeing an old friend in the wild, so cozy.

Whoever ditched Bob in that documentary, he dodged a fat, stupid and very lethal bullet.

You know I bet if you did a study on the correlation between video games and trooning out. You’d be shocked at what you find. Even more so if you just compare it to the people working in the gaming industry who trooned out in last 10 years. Then I wonder why Bob hasn’t become princess peach yet 🤔
