I've also seen this happen to nonwhite people adopted by White people. Somewhere in the back of their mind is this resentment from being taken away from their Motherland (never mind that their situation there was shitty enough to warrant their being taken away in the first place,) and they decide to blame their adoptive parents for "erasing their race. " The fact that playing the race card has become a lucrative pasttime of late also plays into this. As a foreign kid raised by Americans, you get the best of both worlds - you get to be raised by overindulgent rich whitey parents and you get to be an "oppressed minority" who's owed reparations and a place high on the progressive stack.

What's worse is when 1st gen-immigrants from genuine war-torn hellholes get to America, are given free shit and housing, and still complain that the places they come from are better than the Land of the Free. I loved Wishbone and used to watch it back in the day (the fact that we had a Jack Russell ourselves was probably a contributing factor). However I don't think the producers of that show ever intended for the episodes to be substitutes for the actual books themselves - just adaptations meant to get the kids to read said books (while showing a cute doggo).

So the idea that 39-year old Bob's knowledge of classic literature only comes from watching Wishbone adaptations is horrifically hilarious and would totally be a Bob thing.

It still ain't right. He allowed his personal bias to cloud his duties as a law enforcement officer. Rambo did nothing wrong at the beginning of that movie. It ain't illegal to walk through a town in America. Teasle did the first wrong (drew "First Blood"), and it escalates out of control from there. His arrogance then clouds his own judgement to the point gets his own deputies killed or seriously injured (majority injured, because Rambo intentionally pulls his punches in this one). He, the cop, is absolutely the bad guy in that movie. The only one worse being the Art character (who engaged in indefensible brutality).

There's also a cautionary tale about standing up too hard for one's self. Yes, the Sheriff was a prick, but all Rambo had to do was leave town. The Sheriff wasn't even that nasty when introduced in the film. He just didn't want to risk a drifter causing problems in his town and drove John across town to where he would have eventually left from anyways.
