Bob put up a defense by creating a reality where he was being bullied for his intellectual superiority, and that reality was so important to him, that when therapists tried to get Bob to embrace a more accurate reality, he resisted them with all his might.

All of us here are hoping we'll see the day when Bob's reality comes crashing down on him, but unlike Chris-chan, who has a ticking clock above his head in the form of his mother's impending demise, Bob probably has years of lolcow activity ahead of him. It will take a long time before his bad health and dwindling social media numbers finally catch up with him.
