Re: Bob and Justice League Detroit

Justice League Detroit was loathed by fans at the time because it replaced many of the core members of the League with second-stringers. In fact, the only members of the Original Seven to remain were Aquaman and Martian Manhunter (who left the team for the majority of the Bronze Age) with Zatanna and Elongated Man as the only holdovers from the B-List. Fans HATED the new characters, especially Gypsy and Vibe, the latter of whom was so despised that George Perez refused to draw him in full for JLAvengers. It wasn't until later that JLD earned the reputation as the scrappy, underdog incarnation of the League though no one was clamoring for its return.

As for Justice League International (of which Black Canary was a member), why doesn't it surprise me that Bob wants to see that on the silver screen? It is tonally similar to the current MCU, but dialed up to eleven with Blue Beetle[1]/Booster Gold's get rich quick schemes, J'onn J'onzz's Oreo obsession, and Guy Gardner being... Guy Gardner. Here is the thing, though, Zach Snyder's Justice League is nothing like Morrison's 90s run aside from the "gods among men" theme. If Bob bothered to read the opening arc pitting the League against the Hyperclan/White Martians, he would see that it had a Silver Age feel that was far from Snyder's grimdark sensibilities.

For a guy who allegedly went to and graduated from a Catholic school he knows very little of the Christian faith. The Devil is trying to eat The Sun? Do Flat Earthers really believe that? Wait, do you mean the news paper because you've capitalized words that I don't think you should have? That's news to me. It's clearly his ignorance showing and not that he's a disingenuous cunt. Bob is definitely not a disingenuous cunt who strawmans and reduces everything he doesn't like to ridiculous levels in a vain attempt to make his authoritarian and genocidal beliefs sound palatable.

I don't want get into the whole abortion argument because that will make me MATI even more than Bob smugly quote tweeting that pajeet about Afghanistan. I will say that saying sucking out a human in utero via a sharpened vacuum cleaner is comparable to having a rotten molar extracted or your hand reset after autisically punching a wall is peak Bob. *chef's kiss*

People are also not eating HORSE PASTE, tum tum. Ivermectin is being used as a medicine for horses but was developed to fight off parasites in humans. It was found to have promising results in fighting off malaria, which is a respiratory disease. As far as I can tell it was then used as dewormer for horses due to it's parasitic fighting properties and the fact that malaria's not really a thing here in the States. Then comes in Bob and his ilk trumpeting that MAGAchuds are LITERALLY injecting themselves with bleach and horse pills while downing a bottle of fish tank cleaner. To showcase the mental gymnastics I'd like to point out something that Tim Pool tweeted out as an example. He went back and reedited article headlines about Ivermectin to make it more in line with the current mainstream narrative. For those who don't like Tim, please just ignore the beanie and look at the work.

This is the current status of the discord around this.

"You don't wanna take one of the three federally approved vaccines and want to try something else? You are a fucking idiot for taking medicine that's meant for horses you fucking invertebrate!"

There's no room for nuance nor discussion. You cannot change these people. You can't even talk to them. They cannot be swayed from their stance. They will run from anything that might make their house of cards crumble. For a smaller and far more digestible example of this phenomenon just look at the responses to the Byuu revelation happening right now. It would take Divine intervention to shake these people because nothing on Earth will do the trick. This segues me into my next point of discussion.

GrammerGamer35 is a true and honest Bob knob slobber who's following in his beloved and blessed Bob's footsteps. This leads me to the point.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize. I did say that I was getting a list together of Bob's most dedicated fans and I did get that started but clearly never delivered. It was fun at first but then I dug too deep. I was trying to make a mini biography in an attempt to laugh at and understand these tools which was a mistake on my part. These people are all pathetic retards who have NOTHING in their lives but an all consooming rage and a rage to consoom. It's actually quite breath taking how vapid and exquisitely empty they can be, so much so it fills we with revulsion and then depression. They have made their lives about throw away products. They have made their causes things they don't fully understand. They are dumb and when they leave, either online or irl, they will be instantly replaced by someone else who's views are either the same or more extreme. They are marginally better than cogs and that saddens me. I'm not trying to concern troll. I genuinely don't like to see people suffer, even Bob, and this existence they're living, to me, is nothing but suffering. Very few of them even seem to have anyone to share the burden of this existence with but all of them seem to want to find validation in this circle jerk of stupidity they've entrenched themselves in. It is a weird and troubling feeling staring into this abyss of meaninglessness as it stares right back at me.

I don't mean to sound esoteric and throw out a bunch of big brained sounding ideas. That's Bob's purview. I'm just trying to puzzle out things like where their place is and where my place is in all of this while giving commentary on it.

Thank you for coming to my ThadSpeak. Be sure to tip your waitress.

I really don't think Bob understands that just because he thinks he's in the right doesn't mean that future generations will agree with him. Besides, if there's no such thing as absolute morality, then how can you be morally wrong?
vvv.png
I know I say this a lot, but from its independence until very recently Ireland was a very Catholic country and had laws that were more socially conservative than the laws in Texas today. There were no boycotts against Ireland because of this. Stop trying to pretend that Texas will turn into a third world country if it protects the unborn and defends the family, because many other countries do that and aren't shitholes.

By "no restrictions" on abortion, does Bob mean that abortion should be legal at any time during the pregnancy? That makes him scum. I know that's worthy of a top hat, but wanting to kill a baby that could survive outside the womb means that you can't argue about "but it's the mother's body". It shows that you're a death cultist.

Bob was alive during the Cold War. Does he not remember how a lot of Russian propaganda talked about the decadent, capitalist West and the strong, virile, communist countries?

There's a reason one of the few Tsarist laws the Soviets didn't get rid of was the sodomy law, after all.

Interesting strategy of reminding everyone that his weight loss journey begins at morbidly obese and terminates at morbidly obese.

I'll remind you that what he's dislocating his shoulder patting himself on the back for is the loss of "an entire human's being's worth of weight" over the course of *six* years.

I'll spare you the math, but that's the equivalent of eating two less Oreos a day. Bravo, Bob. You're just the model of sacrifice and discipline. I've got the map out and have the mayor on the line to approve your parade route.

As a huge Justice League fan who got back into comics because of Morrison's JLA run...

I could sperg hard here. Let's just say Bob is so close to some accuracy that it's actually more offensive how wrong he is about parts.

Thank you, @Jetpack Himmler. Bobby probably got confused because the Synder JL is clearly based upon Geoff Johns' JL run. Geoff is a big Alan Moore fan (seriously his Green Lantern run is just a straight up fan fic/love letter to Moore's Green Lantern work) as is Morrison. But Morrison and Geoff gravitate towards different aspects of Moore's work. Bobby is clearly just going off third-hand knowledge he just happened to overhear instead of actually drawing from first-hand experience with the actual story.

Heck given that Geoff's interpretation was the one turned into the recent JL animated movies Bob has even less of an excuse.

Since quoting is still being fucky wucky, in response to @glib 's detailed breakdown of Bob's autism...

I've wondered for a while if his word salad is the result of stream-of-conscious tweeting or if his first draft really is just the simple, clear sentence that he then repeatedly goes back to to add more shit on before posting.

I could easily believe either scenario: Either he's so arrogant that cutting even one pearl of wisdom is unthinkable, or he's so insecure he has to add a dozen qualifying statements to punch up his sub-zero takes.
Bob's scattershot overly verbose tweets is just him trying to sound smarter than he is. It's what happens when you have a pretty good vocabulary, but no actual intelligence to back it up. It also has the added effect of obfuscating his point. You'll find that when he comments on more contentious topics he uses complicated wording to haphazardly hide his own opinions because Bob is nothing if not a coward, even in a leftist hugbox like twitter.

So very slight power level, I used to play the Tuba. For like 10 odd years. And there are two things I observed. That there were lots of heavy folks, and that there were two types of fatties.

The first are the jolly type. They just like food, but hell, at least they're fun to be around.

The second are the weird embittered nerds. While the first can be nerdy, this kind always seems to really fucking lean into it. Probably because its easier to be really obsessed with some type of media about people living great lives than it is to put in the effort of living one of your own.

I'm sure we all can puzzle out which one I think Kino Robert belongs to.

"The Union showed too much mercy in the Civil War" is why Texas legislature can pass a somewhat close-to ban on abortion.
Good lord, I thought the "Soldiers at D-Day fought for Antifa & Troons-rites" were fucking dumb, but this is next-level retardation.

July, 1863:
The men of the 20th Maine holding the flank at Little Roundtop have just survived two successive human wave assaults by the 15th Alabama. Lt. Colonel Joshua Chamberlain is able to see the Confederate forces amassing for a third and final wave, while his own line is running low on ammunition.
Bravely, he rode to the front of the line and declared: "I'll be damned if these Anti-Abortion sons of bitches tell my mistress she can't abort the little bastard! Fix bayonets!"
"LIFE BEGINS WHEN SOCIETY SAYS IT BEGINS!" The soldiers of the 20th Maine shouted as they lept up from their trenches and foxholes and charged downhill into the face of the Confederate wave.
"Awww sheet! Them Yankees sure do love thur abortions! MAGA!" The befudled Alabamans screamed in the face of a downward assault breaking their momentum.
Everybody clapped, except for the Tsar in Russia of course.

The American Civil War wasn't about Slavery, States Rights or the inherent divides that come with governing a country comprised of disparate geopolitical needs; no. It was about Abortion.

@Positron why does Bob care about surveillance when he immediately retweets every asinine thought.
If Bob's thirsting for genocide of rural America and defense of Cuties is what he doesn't care if everyone knows about, then what does Bob Chipman do anonymously that he doesn't want anyone to know about?

@Marshal Mannerheim said: They're clearly the same thing in Bob's mind. Religious people believe - when Muslims pray, they say "There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is the Messenger of Allah", a statement of belief. At Catholic Masses, we say the Nicene Creed, which begins "I believe in one God, the Father almighty...". In Bob's mind, only atheists think. Bob, ironically for him, is using a dog whistle.

His assertian that St. Aquinas is 'actually' a thinker is astounding, because the man himself would say that he is a man of belief, led to think because of God. Robert's flummery about it not being religious vs irreligious is pure cope.
The irony is Bob is the biggest believer out there.
The only 'thinking' he does is "what if" scenarios which are more fantasy (and ironically believing in the magiks of The Scienze) and hot takes about Disney/MCU product (most of which turn out wrong).
Maybe, maybe, maybe to his credit he puts some forethought into "gee should I really say this part out loud" (which even then he misses the mark often).

Everything else he does is Believe.
MSM says its true? BEHOLD THE HOLY TRUTH!
Unelected Public Bureaucrat says its 'based on science'? THE SCIENCE HAS SPOKEN!
Disney commercial says its good? IT IS TRULY THE BESTEST EVER YAAASS!
E-Thot says it happened? HOW DARE YOU QUESTION HER!

Now don't get me wrong, people can hold the same opinions and like the same things as MovieBob (theoretically), provided they actually looked at what the perceived to be facts & truths, and thought out conclusions and implications about those things in their mind.
The 'Believer' facet to Bob comes from the fact that he doesn't think, he takes what he's given at face value.

"fast-moving terminology in bleeding edge bioethics fields"

"Bleeding edge" bioethics? "Fast-moving terminology"? Really Robert? And you claim to not be a Believer™? Have you even read a Wikipedia article about a single bioethics book on any subject? Here's a few you might enjoy: A Century of Eugenics in America: From the Indiana Experiment to the Human Genome Era, Imbeciles: The Supreme Court, American Eugenics, and the Sterilization of Carrie Buck, War Against the Weak: Eugenics and America's Campaign to Create a Master Race, How Ethical Systems Change: Eugenics, the Final Solution, Bioethics (Framing 21st Century Social Issues), and The Ethics of the New Eugenics.

I can't believe Bob is Islamophobic.

Bob's takes on the Justice League are pretty funny.

But honestly I don't see a relatively obscure character like Black Canary played by a no-name (and don't get me wrong, she was one of the better parts of the shitty Birds of Prey In Name Only) fronting a team that should include pop culture icons like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Can't even get one ofthem in a movie? What's Gal Gadot doing that's so damned important?

I'm still annoyed that WB/DC inisists on the diversity casts too when there were people that are decent enough actors (namely, Katheryn Winick for Black Canary and Zoey Deutch for Batgirl) that were passed over. I'm so tired of the US entertainment industry, and apparently they're tired of my money.

Seriously, I think it's both.
If you listen to his videos and read his book you will see theres a consistency in speech/thought patterns. It must be how he thinks.
It stands to reason our words should be written in a manner that considers the reader. Ergo I assume many of us speak in an unedited, slightly filtered manner. In the same sense, we read back our written posts to make sure that our statements are sensible. We don't want to be writing incorrectly, because it pains the reader. Prose should flow readily, and I daresay Bob's work is the definition of "purple".

1630694760857.png

However I will freely admit, his most sensible sentences are in his videos, yet those are edited so brusquely that its hard to follow along.
The only way Bob could be even-handed, and on the level is if he borrowed a spirit level from the other Chipman.

Bob several times claimed not to be an Atheist (of any kind!) a while ago. I find this a curious claim, given that just about everything he tweets about religion in general mocks "superstition" (which Bob clearly defines as "being scared at natural phenomenons like thunder because it means Sky Daddy is Mad at them") and speaks of such matters like the most Euphoric of fedora-tipping Atheists. Yet this bozo went to Catholic School, where he presumably learned about Christianity in some detail, and yet he's conflating Christianity with truly "superstitious" religions (like that of the Aztecs, Polynesians, hell, any primitive religion where the Believers(tm) couldn't accurately guess the will of their deities and were reduced to doing crazy things to appease them, such as sacrificing virgins harder if it didn't rain for a long ass time).

The problem with this is, Christians can most certainly suss out God's Will from the scriptures, and thus it is in no way the same thing as religions that don't have any sort of direct line to the Almighty. The Bible says, very clearly, Do Not Murder, and has stated repeatedly that God abhors the deaths (by deliberate murder) of the innocent. Pro-life Christians take that to mean, God doesn't want you to kill the Unborn willy-nilly; certainly not for "selfish" reasons rather than y'know, saving the mother's life. (I don't get the ones that don't even take the Mother's life into account because I'm sure God didn't want mothers literally martyring themselves if they had the ability to save themselves when either way the baby is guaranteed dead.) While maybe some Fundies might think that natural phenomena are God's Punishment, Jesus clearly states that you can't actually guess whether ANY natural phenomena/disasters are "Punishments". Some dudes asked him after the collapse of the Tower of Siloam killed a bunch of people, and when a bunch of Galileans were slaughtered by Pilate's soldiers for rioting, "Were they more sinners than the rest?" and Jesus was like, "No, but unless you REPENT, you too will perish."

Oddly enough Bob has his own mindset that's similar to the "Fundies", with the whole "Bad things [SHOULD] happen to Bad People(tm)" mindset.

Which brings me to the base question here: Does Bob think believe that following The Ten Commandments is superstition and backward attempts to appease the pejorative strawman deity "Sky Daddy"? If he's not an Atheist, is he just a generalized Deist/Agnostic who thinks that whatever Higher Power exists, is not concerned with being appeased by humankind, and takes no notice of Humankind's "sins" because Hail Science? And the only actual "sins" are not following the Science(TM), because screw loving your Neighbor, not stealing and not murdering, what's really important is Soopeeryah Fyootchah(TM)! And for some reason, if you're against Abortion, you're Against the Science(TM)? Because Abortion is "scientific"?! WTF.

There is a god that will let you do whatever you want, Bob. His name's Lucifer. And we all know what happens to kids whose parents let them do whatever they want. You know them as "entitled narcissists".

@Koby_Fish
We had a thunderstorm of pretty big proportions at night where I live some weeks ago. It's not exactly difficult to imagine that the people of history could interpret them as being the will of the gods, in some form or another. To hear thunder crack down merely a couple of hundred meters away from you is a powerful thing (several years ago I was unfortunate enough to be outside just as a big thunderstorm approached — I believe I was less than a hundred meters away from a lightning bolt when it struck down, and the resulting "boom" made me think my head was stuck in a cauldron that someone hit with a sledgehammer). It's not just the lighting and noise that carve brilliantly through the dark, but the electrifying atmosphere in the air around you that makes your hair stand on edge. If Robert had been born just a couple of decades ago, he would most certainly have fallen on his knees at the tiniest inclination of forthcoming thunder, begging his gods of useless and childish consumption to save him from the apocalypse.

At any rate, you're expecting Robert and his ilk to not be hopeless and particularly dumb hypocrites, and to also be willing to look at religion with decency and at least a tiny bit of introspection. As a former atheist — now an agnostic — not quite of the fedora kind, but not too far away either, I can sadly relate to his mocking tone against religion. I was about 18 years old when Richard Dawkins saved me from the shackles of superstition, and about 25 years old when I realized that I no longer identified myself with the atheist crowd. As I got older, I realized and accepted that religion can be a powerful tool for good in this world, and that it fills a niche and need for mankind that just can't seem to be found elsewhere (someone wrote in this thread that Richard Dawkins thought that the inspiration of religion for the building of the Sistine Chapel could have been better replaced with Science™, which is just laughable — I respect Dawkins a great deal, but come on).

The sad, and boring, answer to your question is that Bob doesn't think about the ramifications of his purported beliefs. He merely reacts to stimuli from the comfort of his basement, and he does so with gusto that is only matched by his misanthropy.

Now for two questions of my own: I've seen people continuously assert that they believe Robert to be reading this thread, and that his income from Patreon is derived from a slew of people who, supposedly a long time ago, somehow forgot their meager contributions to him, and never bothered to check their transactions? How many of the Chipman aficionados truly believe this? Is it a common thing for people to simply forget that they've donated a dollar each month to some dumb oaf on the Internet for several years? Like, the posts in their transaction history take up just as much space on their monitor as any other, the only difference being that some posts have a couple of more numbers at the end than the rest? Wouldn't people be curious to see what that "1$" showing up each month is spent on, if they somehow forgot? Being a niggardly cunt myself, I just can't understand people forgetting such a thing.

And Robert reading this thread? Come on, really? Do you honestly believe that he would be willing to partake in his own abuse, without the option to steer the conversation through bans and such? Some lolcows admittedly do read their own threads, but do you truly think that Robert possess cojones of such size that he would be capable of this?

By now the evidence is pretty conclusive that Ma & Pa Chipman's Bouncing Bobby Boy is mentally and intellectually deficient if you are being charitable. (He's a booger eating retard if you are not inclined to be charitable.)

So, with that in mind, I decided to make up an informal poll entitled:

What Is The Reason For MovieBob's Severe Mental Retardation?

A) Ma Chipman's preferred pregnancy snack was tasty lead paint chips.

B) Hydrocephaly

C) Ma Chipman washed her daily 24 pack of Budweisers down with a gallon of moonshine.

D) Phenylketonuria

E) Ma & Pa Chipman lived too close to a nuclear power plant with leaky radiation shielding.

F) Fragile X Syndrome

G) A couple centuries of sibling incest finally produced the Kwisatz Tarderach.
