I've seen this kind of thing before, typically with young teenagers who are likely too shy/inexperienced to make up a sex scene. And also rate their horrible story as R, or NC-17, or X (never seen all three for one story however). Dammit, when your sex scene literally goes "They have sex" and the only sexual related build up is "He looks up her dress", that sure as hell isn't an X, or NC-17, or even an R rated story! That barely qualifies as PG, if you want to continue to use movie ratings.

Oh my god I didn't even realize she had labeled the fic with three completely different ratings. My eyes just kind of glazed over after seeing "NC-17" and knowing what was ahead.

Also, I've noticed that Rose seems to pretending that Rose3212, MysticalWomanRose, and MrsCilanStriaton are all different people. Just look at their most recent deviations and journals, they're full of lengthy threads consisting of just Rose talking to herself.

Now granted, I've RPed before (not on DA, that's just a den of horrible), and sometimes I've RPed characters that ended up talking to each other and carrying conversations. Keeping with the Pokemon theme, I once did an RP thread that was Red, Blue, and Green from Pokemon Special/Adventures bantering with each other (I think I threw Gold in there too), and I was constantly switching between accounts throughout the thread. It was fun, I enjoyed it, even if no one else cared to read it. But we're talking about three iterations of Rose's same idealized self-insert talking to each other and giving each other asspats... and that's just sad.

At least that one time RPed a thread with like four of my different Edward Elric accounts for shits and giggles, I had them spend the entire time arguing over who was the real one.

I appreciate what base creators do, I guess, in that it helps beginning artists (of which there are a great many on dA) work out how clothing, etc. falls on a figure, but the bald, naked, huge-eyed women at that link remind me of a bunch of grey aliens, or shop mannequins, fighting. I'd take tracing over bases any day. Tracing helped me learn my stuff when I was little, as in helping me connect the dots for what goes where. As long as you don't publish it as your own there's no shame in it. Pretty sure the bases themselves are traced anyway...

Using bases is the lazy man's version of tracing. The tracing is already done for you, all you have to do is shit some colors on top of it!

Though I have seen people who simply use bases as references for poses, and freehand their own work. That's fine imo, to an extent.

Yeah, this. It's good for the beginning artist, anyways. It helps especially with things like proportions and basic anatomy. I used to do it a lot and then toss the traced drawings in the trash. Eventually, I'd just use reference to draw, and when I'd draw something enough times, I'd begin drawing it from memory.

But bases are just extremely lazy.
