RPGnet Forums

I do love the sheer balls these fucks have to claim that they are the normal ones and the people frustrated about trannies shoving their fetish into things are the ones pushing politics. It doesn't matter if they made a big point about adding pronouns and zipper tits to “body types A and B,” you can't object because you theoretically don't have to make your character have them, never mind that there are still probably NPCs with this shit shoved in your face anyway.
I decided a long time ago that the need for such "rules" and rules about minutiae that would be easily fixed by not being a fucking malevolent retard is because the tabletop community is a bunch of autistic retards and the whole thing isn't for me. This is a community where the same people pay for homebrew fluff.

Don't get me started.
Taken from us too soon
I never gave Legends a try after they killed off the original TSW. Maybe I'll give it a try some day.
It's pretty bad, the underlying plot and lore is still there though which is what matters the most. They did not advance much plot with Legends though. I occasionally am tempted to pop back in on an anniversary or Halloween but it stopped being a habit to do so years ago.

That's sad, it had such potential but I we can't nave niche fun things anymore everything has to be a massive money machine or it's a failure. I might log into the new one to fuck around a bit with.

I look at it as a solid game with a fun story to run through that largely ended in Tokyo. Shame it's a cliffhanger but a lot of fun little things remain.

The trio of missions updates they did for the three core areas of the game were a great demonstration of how tonally different it could be while also keeping focused on the core of the game. First one focused on a missing journalist and ended up suggesting horrible stuff for every character you had encounter in that initial island, second was an Indiana Jones rip off and the third started as James Bond and then segued into the biggest metaplot advancement we got pre-Tokyo.

Meanwhile, the mods complain about the emotional labor of their jobs.
What's the topic that could lead to a flamewar? Another guy taking a shot at Trump? "Settle down you guys, we don't want to get questioned by the Secret Service again!"

This thing with the new owner is hilarious. I'm wondering about his angle. Did he not check things out thoroughly enough to understand he was basically buying North Korea? I don't see it, guy is a successful business owner, he's got to be shrewd. Obviously the domain name is the most valuable thing about the site. He could just be biding his time until he can find a suitable excuse to nuke the forum... but that would create a community of refugees hellbent on shit-talking and trolling his site. Power games on RPGNet are the only thing these people have to live for.

The most pragmatic route I could see him taking would be to keep the forums running as a containment zone but to remove any mention of them from the site's front page. He could even start a completely separate web community for the game finder service and leave the old forum so as to preserve its precious "community." The regulars may even be grateful for this as it would ensure no newcomers defile their sanctuary. It could keep going like this until enough of them burn out or 41% themselves that the forum finally dies for good.

It concerns Big Bad Con, a convention in SanFran. There's a group staging a boycott because Big Bad Con supports Israel is insufficiently anti-Zionist.

They're getting more rare these days as the tall poppies get lopped off, but I love a good hypothetical morality thread.

Why? Because with rpg.net you're guaranteed at least one nutbar so far out in left field he's standing in the parking lot arguing that their definition for *extremely common word* is the only right and true definition and it's everyone else who's been using it wrong all this time.

@Hugbox Kommissar Not just a random poster either, one who's been there for 20+ years. Despite a username that is almost certainly his fetish.
Not just a random poster, but a poster who has survived to this day on both RPGNet and its bitter ex, TheRPGSite. The final boss of Internet message boards, he will bury both RPGPundit and Mr. RPGNet after they are dead, and unite the divided kingdom under his own rule. The yiffsters shall inherit the Earth. After that, plagues and locusts.

"Nice account. Would be a shame if a small 'accident' happened to it."

He "both sides-ed" the Crusades!

Edit: just for context, this fedora sperg has been a member since 2003, and has almost 52,000 comments to his name. But he "both sides-ed" the Crusades!

Well well well, look who tried to serve God and Mammon. Love that we've reached the point where the softest and most milquetoast """"""""""Christian""""""""" opinions are now dangerous far right extremism.
