Shonen anime writing is not something anyone should strive to emulate, unless it's purely the bones of how those narratives work.

Even then, the issue isn't that Jaune is more interesting or has more going on. It's that he actively removes Ruby's reason for even existing. It's less like a Shonen case where the side characters are overall more interesting, and more like a Shonen where the side character is the protagonist and the protagonist might as well not even be there.

Like at least Naruto gets to actively fight the bad guys, has a motivation, and is the driving force of the narrative. Ruby is... just there. Any time she should be in the spotlight Jaune is awkwardly handed the reins instead.

Best example is the end of V5. We've had an entire previous volume of Cinder seething and wanting revenge against Ruby for searing out her eyeball. Instead of that, when the two are finally in a room together, Jaune takes center stage and the two don't even acknowledge each other. Jaune gets the big moment of conflict, Ruby is barely even a footnote.
I was really just making a joke about Jaune stealing the focus with the shonen anime thing. Since RWBY was essentially trying to be anime.

Vexed Viewer thinks V9 has been delayed thanks to the Justice League film. Who knows? Maybe this could be another Gen Lock situation. https://youtube.com/watch?v=qAyPnN2BFAw
Is it being animated in-house by RT? If not, I feel like that'd be unlikely. Who knows though? Between this, the game, and Ice Queendom it's very likely that they just didn't want the actual volume to get buried beneath all the ancillary material.

Any shot best girl Pyrrha comes back in this dc crossover thing
She was in the comic. Her and the rest of JNPR spend the whole thing being mind controlled by Starro. She gets like, one line of dialogue at the end, and the artists kept drawing Jaune in his post-Beacon gear because the art in this comic was lazy as shit.

I'm not sure if any details were included in the announcement. All I just remember was Vexed saying that this Justice League crossover was why V9 kept getting pushed back in his opinion.

I forgot that they gave Batman those stupid fucking bat ears. Christ he looks stupid.

I doubt it, honestly. Vexed is a retard and spouting nonsense. It's far more likely that RT is just incompetent and struggling to get the volume made due to a lack of budget and talent.

The whole comic and premise is retarded. Now it's basically canon that a Justice League equivalent exists somewhere within Remnant, like that isn't the most retarded inclusion they could possibly make to the worldbuilding they've managed to cobble together so far.

He was one of the three JL members who looked sort of cool.

Him, Cyborg, and Aquaman were the only decently designed characters. Superman had the dumb MoS-armor on his chest when a bandanna would have been more appropriate for the farmhand look, Diana was overdesigned as hell, and Flash looked like a Ninja Turtle more than he did the Flash. And Jess was a forgettable plot device in the comic.

Bat ears, or human ears. Not both, pick fucking one.

I don’t think the RWBY comics ever had good art. RT May regret this partnership because I’m not sure DC is sending their best.
Given the way the American comic industry has been the past decade or so I wouldn't be surprised if this is their best.

DC doesn't even have an established office anymore & are relying to hotdesking. Obviously, they're owning up to it, by not owing up to it & using Zack Snyder as a scapegoat for their decade old piles of bullshit.

Forget giving their best for RT, they're not even giving their best for themselves.

Finished Volume 2. They should have listened to Ironwood
Be prepared. He is the one glorious sign post sticking in the ground and giving the finger to the hurricane of bullshit writing in RWBY.

Ironwood DESERVES to be stanned and we treasure him for his defiance to shit writing
