I’ll give more in depth thoughts later, but they definitely shouldn’t have Beacon fall so early. They needed to explore some of these relationships more in depth between teams interacting with rwby. Also I would like to see Neptune flushed out more especially since there could be something there.

But I guess they didn’t want to be anime Hogwarts which I think is a mistake. Also don’t care about cinder

Prepare to be disappointed in regards to Neptune. As to not caring about Cinder, you’re not alone. But CRWBY REALLY does.

Ideally I would want Neptune to help soften Weiss up a bit like he did at the dance when talking about Jaune. Make her realize that she can start trusting people outside her team.

Plus he could help Jaune not be such a soy boy with Pyrrha. Small role, but one that could open up some new dimensions with characters.

That always struck me as an especially weak part of RWBY, how little the characters interact with each other outside of their teams. They're supposed to be friends with Team JNPR, but only Ruby and Weiss ever talk to them, and even then, it's only to Jaune (Weiss only talks to Pyrrha in her intro scene and after that, nothing).

Yep. This is why them leaving beacon when they did is a huge mistake. We needed to see these relationships build up so then when a big death occurs it plays a toll on everyone. Maybe jnpr gets jealous of rwby. Maybe we get other teams that want to bring jnpr and rwby down. Play off of that. I know beacon falls at 3, but they should’ve pushed it out to like 6. Dump the cinder shit till then or not at all replace her with like ironwood who wants control of beacon as part of his plans. But they needed time to build these relationships.

Yeah - like maybe try to expand on the filler arcs, have people shadow Huntsmen or go to other Kingdoms for field trips, or cooperate with other teams. Hell, fight some criminals, rogues or White Fang. Even the Abyss fight from the deleted scenes would do nicely here.

And studying for school, for crying out loud. The exams and Vytal Festival are crammed in the same time period.

And Ice Queendom's "It was a dream" doesn't count.

The whole comic and premise is retarded. Now it's basically canon that a Justice League equivalent exists somewhere within Remnant, like that isn't the most retarded inclusion they could possibly make to the worldbuilding they've managed to cobble together so far.
It is backass and retarded, aylmao. It's ironic that one of the big giants of superheroes can't properly recognize and identify the power dynamics and scenario of a place like Remnant of all places. In a world like Remnant, there would be no need for superhero groups because 1) everyone has access to their own magic and 2) highly trained above average aptitude fighters and guardians of the people are institutionalized by the government, and their social dynamics ensure no military industrial complex interference outright to make Hunters completely obedient to military powers because they are a part of the military by their people willing it to in a circular manner.

Superheroes only exist in their settings because they are supposed to be extraordinary people meant to face extraordinary threats in a world where being special is a very rare thing. In a world where everyone is special, everyone goes their own ways and everyone helps another, in this case those who know and want to be fighters protect those who don't from those who have turned wayward or are threats beyond reason. The major failure is that this is not a one way street- Spiritually, these perspectives hold true in someway or another in each other and are not mutually exclusive. Hunter groups in RWBY are practically their own "Justice Leagues", and I'm sure with all of my imagination, Hunter groups specialize in different fields. The fuck makes the "legitimate Justice League" so special? hint: they're not

If the RWBY writers had the balls to kill off a main/prominent character during the battle of Beacon who do you think would have the most impact/could have made the following volumes less crap?

During the fall of Beacon? I dunno, I don't think any of them needed to die there. If anyone were to, though, I'd say you'd lose the least by killing Blake, with Yang as a close second.

Killing Blake would have 0 impact on the story as up to that point her character was inconsequential.

Killing Weiss would similarly be low impact, but considering she's spent the better part of her career jobbing other fights it wouldn't be surprising.

Killing Yang would likely have a huge impact, and would save the writers from having to abort their own shitty attempt at a PTSD arc they can't fucking write to save their lives.

Killing Ruby would have an impact on the fans, but not on the show. She was the main character up to this point, but here on out she has accomplished fuck all besides doing speech checks against retards.
