God, the whole "Nightmare" thing is so retarded. It sounds cool in nature, but it makes ZERO sense and has nothing to do with the original plot. All it does is raise even MORE questions about the already fucking convoluted world that is Remnant.

Rather than try to introduce new Grimm, why don't we expand upon the Grimm we already know? (For example, why are there different kinds of Grimm? Do Grimm compete for food and shelter? How do Grimm communicate with each other? etc.)

iirc, this "Nightmare" Grimm was introduced in that YouTube shorts series...? I remember one of the episodes being about a Grimm that destroyed an entire village. I think I'm wrong, but the Grimm shown in that episode was fucking awesome.

Outside of what Shane claims, which from what I could read (that "open letter" was the one of the most painful things to read) was one fight scene (Raven vs JNPR), nothing's ever been said. Though I bet that a big factor is that there never enough of a vision to really deviate from, much of the big narrative beats were introduced after his passing and Monty was notorious for coming up with shit as he went along. The plot point of the maidens was introduced during volume 3's production and it's likely that a lot of the series was being develped while he was in the middle of one of his many overnighters.

Edit: Another part of it would be that very few people (that aren't the chucklefucks) would've been privy to this "vision" as the main people who should've known were them. Shane only thinks he knows because he was often with Monty on his allnighters. There isn't really anyone else who would've known enough.

The only other things of note were Ruby vs Roman and Neo being moved to an airship, Adam vs Yang was actual fight instead of a charge (there was actual footage leaked and it was used in V6), and the V2 stinger was something Monty had to fight to include, and finally a whole bunch of shit was cut from V3 because Miles and Kerry didn't get why they were included, but apparently Monty (and I guess Shane and Sheena) did.

It's mostly whatever spontaneous fight scene Monty and co. would come up with. Adam vs Yang would've fought during Beacon, and Raven would attack JNPR of all people in Beacon because reasons.

Honestly, a lot of the things that were cut made sense - Adam oneshotting Yang established a power-scaling threat and created dramatic tension, and JNPR were not that related to Yang, so why attacking them in the middle of hostile territory just to send some kind of message to Yang is beyond me.

I think the best reason Raven would attack JNPR would be because of Phyrra being picked by the Ozluminati to be the Maiden, and Raven thinks that would mean Ozpin would have a new pawn.

That’s how I’d justify it.
