I really really hope that they don't lean into Alice in Wonderland as an inspiration. Then again the (alleged) production cycle woes of this volume hold promise for a good old fashioned garbage fire.

Why not?

I mean, we don’t even have a release date yet. I guess these stills were a way to project confidence that things aren’t tits up.

Talk about dickriding, am I right?

By the by, what’s your opinion about this guy’s thoughts:
While the review hits a lot of bullseyes, it misses even more. Like, many of the fundamental points of why extremism, even for a noble cause, is bad. Or that I had to keep myself from rolling my eyes so much on the common Tumblr lingo that veers eerily into xenophobia. "Cultural appropriation" is just "nice xenophobia". It doesn't make it less discriminatory that you'll bar other people not of that culture from enjoying it.

The first one looks like a poor man's Mario 64, great unintentional comedy.
I got more Alice in Wonderland, but you do you.

Wow, someone who actually gets it. And then there's the point where Adam is essentially the head of a group using that group to go away from their original point in the name of exacting revenge against his former right hand man who turned against him (which someone could use as a way that the White Fang got FURTHER corrupted).

But seriously, even if you bring up the points, I think some will excuse them because "they got results" while Blake and her family didn't.

So what I can note from this trailer.
1. the voice acting is somehow worse than ever before, I am honestly impressed they managed to lower the bar even further in that department.
2. the story is some introspective nonsense written by hacks who don't have anywhere near the talent to properly do it. We all already predicted this though, so no real surprise there.
3. It looks like shit across the board from designs to the general animation quality itself. We all already predicted that again though, so nothing new there.
4. The writing is reaching new levels of marvel-esque quippy cringe. Which again, doesn't really surprise anyone. I also still have no fucking idea why the fuck we are taking this detour away from the main story which, while terrible, was finally going somewhere.

Overall, it looks fucking terrible and overall pointless. Which is what we all expected.

I’d also add 5. They’re trying to go with some Alice in Wonderland shit with some of the scenes we saw and the way the cat is speaking.

I also wonder if they’re going to say that the way the color scheme is done, they’re going to say they were inspired by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. (I don’t know, something about the environmental design and the colors and how they’re used together).

Honestly, it was so obvious from even back at the end of volume 8 that they were going to do this that I didn't bother to note it because it wasn't really a revelation to anyone.

Honestly, my bet was that since Jaune also fell, the show would make it into something like his own isekai harem without the romance because of course they would.

But if you were guessing Alice in Wonderland, well you got your confirmation. Congratulations.
