So, I've been thinking, Does anyone know a single accomplishment Ozpin's group did against Salem since Ozpin won the Great War? 'Cause I can't think of a single one, and given that Ozpin lost the weapons God of Light (presumably) bestowed upon humanity (Silver Eyed Warriors), I can think only of the many failures of his group

The defining aspect of RWBY is that no one who is good has done anything, yet everyone keeps claiming they have done "something" that is somehow helping the world.

While those who are evil are doing everything, yet no one knows what they are doing.

Honestly, the best way to describe the conflict is “making progress towards reaching your goals by virtue of the incompetence of your enemies”.

I would add, "....and its impossible to tell which side is making progress"
Well, evidently Ozpin's group is not doing so hot. If we compare the state they were in at the beginning on Vol 3, and now, they've made net negative progress.

All RWBY has accomplished is walking around the continent and destroying every major city they visit. So no, honestly, Salem would have had a harder time winning if they weren't involved at all.

75 percent of the show is straight filler.

Lol, the same day you posted this, there was also a post on RWDE about how Ozpin's group hasn't accomplished anything besides looking pathetic. I guess that's not as bad as team RWBY destroying an entire kingdom though.

All RWBY has accomplished
I'm not necessarily talking about Team RWBY (plus their friends), because they are about the last people Ozpin has left to rely on (bar maybe the Headmaster of Vacuo). I'm more curious as to what he has done in the time period between winning the Great War, and death of Summer Rose. He had literally all the pieces. All militaries bowed to him (via his puppets) and thereby all the Kingdoms did so too. Silver Eyed Warriors either outright served him (like Summer), or were the enemy of Salem (like Maria). All of the Maidens were under his control and remained such until Raven graduated (which is when they lost the Spring Maiden. You could argue about the Fall Maiden, but given Qrow's impossibly fast response when she was attacked, they clearly were monitoring her). He knew and had access to all the Divine Relics the Brother Gods left (Destruction (HEY DOESN'T THIS SOUND USEFUL?), Creation, Knowledge (lol), and literally a relic THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SEE THE FUCKING FUTURE)

What has he done with all of this? Btw, the Future Relic? It was always in Vale.
RWDE? I don't believe I am familiar.

I literally suggested crowdfunding (in several ways) ages ago, and that ONLY NOW occurred to them?

I mean it is the known liar Barbara saying this, so it might be false, but still...

At any rate, why not go back to Monty's way of doing things? You can't honestly tell me Monty had enough cash to spend 30 grand per minute of animation. I'm sure the real fans would be willing to see some graphical drops. Also:
Also, as a side note, Fallout NV devs cared so much about what they were making that they made the 4 DLC’s with a barely existent budget. The reason so many textures there are reused is because they ran out of money after making the main game, and decided to make 4 very beloved DLC’s with a nonexistent budget. RWBY writers could do that. But they don’t.

It seems they don't want to sacrifice a single thing for their product, which implies to me they all care it as much as Barbara does (which is to say, not much more than Gay bait)

It's quite telling that RoosterTeeth doesn't quite understand why they're failing.

$30,000 a minute is insane and they really need to do things more efficently. RWBY frequently looks like complete dogshit and Monty was doing a much better job for free - he didn't have a fucking animation studio at first.

I'm not sure how accurate this list is - https://screenrant.com/most-expensi...ball-super-2017---present-170-000-per-episode but if it's accurate it means that RWBY is so expensive that if it were on that list, it would be #1 (costing 600% more per episode than Dragonball Super).

There's no fucking planet where you watch a RWBY episode and think "This looks 800% better than a My Hero Academia episode".

There is no way that anyone with a brain could look at that cost and the resulting product and go "Yeah, this makes sense".

Thoughts:
I hate it when they make a list of claims and literally not a single one is sourced. Sourcing is an issue in wiki fandoms just in general, but come the fuck on. You had the fucking link before you as you were making that statement. Half of these have links (I bet unarchived), half of them don’t. What the fuck is the point?

At any rate:
  • I have mixed feelings about Torchwick not surviving. On one hand, killing a character off (permanently because Vol 9 illusion doesn’t count) when they fulfilled their purpose is great, and more shows/books/series should do that. On the other hand, how the fuck did he not? The Grimm died like 5 seconds later, and he had aura. Yang has been shown to easily survive falling at a terminal velocity after a fight, and its not like the Grimm had time to digest (what do they even do to eaten bodies?) him. I think it makes no sense lorewise, but this works well from a writing perspective
  • Salem=!Winter Maiden is a weird one, because that comment makes no sense depending on when the comment was made. It only makes sense SOLELY if it was made before Vol 6, but after 5. That’s why sourcing dates is important. The date determines if this is just the writers being retarded about something, or if they were addressing a genuine fan question/concern
  • Songs being noncanon makes sense, and makes shipping people seethe. Ironically Bumblebee fans like using the songs as proof of YangxBlake, which is funny because one of them states that Blake had a thing for Weiss, not Yang (Dream Come True. Wiki states its about Pyrrha’s attraction to Jaune, but as it itself concedes, it was played in Yang+Blake heavy episode which notably did not feature Pyrrha)
  • Reread about Monty’s statement regarding the fairytales. Now recall Volume 6, 8, 9. Noticeable shift, huh? But, don’t worry guys, Barbara, the known liar, assures us it was all pre-planned and pre-written by Monty
  • The Ironwood comment is funny because the first time the writers were called out on this they invented a new semblance on the spot for Ironwood to explain away the evil. Whether or not Ironwood was written well, the writers themselves don’t believe they did him good.
  • Atlas Checkov comment is also one that needs sourcing and date. There’s nothing to suggest that this was remotely planned at Vol 2, or even Vol 1 (both of which talk and feature Atlas (though briefly and mostly via indirect references)). This is why sourcing is important
  • I am not going to repeat this every time it is relevant, but dates and sources, dates and sources
  • Grimm Campaign is one of the most retarded and lore breaking additions to the series. It also is 100% pointless because none of the characters of the God tier magical artifacts are ever used again (Mass Grimm Mind Control device really sounds like it could have come in handy during the fall of fucking Beacon)
  • Cat second form being a nod somehow to Persona is nonsensical. How you are supposed to know that without Tvtropes is beyond me
  • Lien IS paper currency based. It has multiple forms, all financially viable/accepted. There’s Paper version, card version (most popular one), and there’s cent versions.
  • Blake always was bisexual, she just weirdly only ever expressed romantic and sexual interest in men. You know, like if she was straight. Almost like she was just turned gay magically at Vol 7.
  • What the fuck is an “Dark Acre”? That wasn’t ever mentioned in the show
  • That’s not being a therapist that’s being a scammer. Therapist is supposed to try and help and give you help, not just sort of nudge you every time you give them a 50 dollar bill.
  • The weapon thing needs context because an important part of weapons being there is that those are things that have entered Ever After (that fairy tale chicks weapon, Penny’s weapon, and its implied that Summer’s weapon and memories are there for the same reason too)
  • So they just didn’t know what to do with Neo, and giving her God powers(ability to mass create a physical and more powerful form for any being she wished) made her hard to kill off, huh?
  • Who the fuck got therapy in Vol 9? Blake and Yang got into a relationship at a fucking literal gunpoint, and the only therapy moment they had, WHILE DRUGGED AGAINST THEIR WILL MIND YOU, consisted in them being wrong and gaslighting themselves
