I liked RWBY unironically as good if shallow fun until Vic got fired and dropped it like a rock.

RVB had a good run I dropped of at around the time they tried to make it really serious and somehow tie into halo lore (no, just no). admittedly I actually really enjoyed the whole church
. is an Ai
revelation arc.

They definitely need to sell and reboot rwby hardcore. Maybe take cues from ff7 rebirth on how to expand and reframe things.

Oh no, Warner Brothers realized how fucking retarded it was to buy a company headed by a bunch of internet dude bros who cucked out because of money and woman.

To anyone here because of the live stream, congratulations, you win a free trip to Hawaii. Now, you just have to wait outside of your house for the guy that's delivering the tickets.

Update: If you're dumb enough to take this seriously, then it's no wonder why you ever watched this tripe and was ever a fan of it.

Why would you want to "finish" this god awful story?

Its frankly easier to just start over and tell a good story at this point.
Sunk cost fallacy, wanting to finish the job Monty started, take your pick. But after a decade, I guess folks aren’t really on board with RWBY going the High School Of The Dead route and the show just stopping with everyone deciding to leave it unfinished, especially considering that decision could have been made after volume 2.

I stopped watching RvB after that season but I'll admit that I liked that ending and I think that would have made the best possible sendoff to RvB as a series.

Considering the news about RT, anyone else think the thread subtitle needs updating?

I'm rewriting the entire OP right now.

“Rests” could do with being changed to “rested”, yeah
I noticed mine was updated, i couldn’t find the edit to the subtitle since the site updated to change rules how long you could edit. It would’ve been updated before too “now pretending to be a chicken joint ran by DEI hires.” If I could update it now it would say “pretending not to be dead for another X days”.

To anyone that wants RWBY to continue , instead of being rebooted, I will ask you this. Do you sincerely belice they are going to be able to give a proper finale in one volume? How long would it take?

Better question. Did it actually ever feel we were even close to a finale?

I mean isn't it obvious they were stalling for time and then story was going nowhere? The idea that there close to finish it Is a lie. RT was planning to milk this until the end of time. Trouble is they stopped being profitable a long time ago.

Honestly, I don’t think they were ever near the end, mainly because I can only assume that CRWBY felt that there was no need to worry about the pacing since they knew that RT would always be around and the only question would be how and when RWBY would be aired.

As for continue, I really doubt that an ideal ending can be reached, and I think the most logical thing that can be done

is 1. Doing what the end of V3 did where our heroes go off on their new quest knowing what lies at the end of it when they reach their destination (in this case, a final showdown with Cinder and/or Salem, probably back at Beacon Academy), or

2. The Vacuo volume ends with Ruby back at where she was at the end of V3, except that the situation is at a point where classes at Beacon can go on, or at the start of V1, where she’s about to start at Beacon academy, or before the events of the first episode.

Personally, 1 seems more logical, even if it means the bigger story is left unfinished

Neither of these are “good” or “ideal”, I’ll admit that. But given the death of RT, and RWBY being up in the air, it’s probably the only ways you can wrap this up in one season. Alternatively, if things truly are cancelled, you can just write a blog post or Twitter statement explaining the beats to say what was planned to happen just to offer closure.

Don’t take this the wrong way, as I know you said you saw the potential issues so I want to comment on both outcomes. I am criticizing the position RT left things, not your ideas. I think you are just doing the best with that you had.

A common thing I notice about your ideas is a return to The Beacon academy status quo, right? I agree that would be ideal. That’s when the show was at its best. I think Japan liked it too when it was basically a high school anime.

But heres the issue. It’s no longer possible. Our main leads. except Ruby, are pushing 19-20 years old. And they alrady have their huntress licences so they basically have gradauted from their equivalent of collegee. Miles and the others shoot themselves on the foot with, yet another, retarded decision.

Return them to the Beacon Satus Quo, in a single volume, would require so much explanations, retcons and breaking suspension of disbelief, that you might as well reboot the show. As they should.
