To anyone that wants RWBY to continue , instead of being rebooted, I will ask you this. Do you sincerely belice they are going to be able to give a proper finale in one volume? How long would it take?
Better question. Did it actually ever feel we were even close to a finale?
I mean isn't it obvious they were stalling for time and then story was going nowhere? The idea that there close to finish it Is a lie. RT was planning to milk this until the end of time. Trouble is they stopped being profitable a long time ago.
Honestly, I don’t think they were ever near the end, mainly because I can only assume that CRWBY felt that there was no need to worry about the pacing since they knew that RT would always be around and the only question would be how and when RWBY would be aired.
As for continue, I really doubt that an ideal ending can be reached, and I think the most logical thing that can be done
is 1. Doing what the end of V3 did where our heroes go off on their new quest knowing what lies at the end of it when they reach their destination (in this case, a final showdown with Cinder and/or Salem, probably back at Beacon Academy), or
2. The Vacuo volume ends with Ruby back at where she was at the end of V3, except that the situation is at a point where classes at Beacon can go on, or at the start of V1, where she’s about to start at Beacon academy, or before the events of the first episode.
Personally, 1 seems more logical, even if it means the bigger story is left unfinished
Neither of these are “good” or “ideal”, I’ll admit that. But given the death of RT, and RWBY being up in the air, it’s probably the only ways you can wrap this up in one season. Alternatively, if things truly are cancelled, you can just write a blog post or Twitter statement explaining the beats to say what was planned to happen just to offer closure.
