How viable is a continuation, even? Like, seriously, what animators? What storyboarding?

EDIT: Go to the latest Hero Hei video about RWBY. The comments saying that Viz Media is going to continue this shit. I couldn't stop myself from cringing.
I wouldn't be surprised if they attempt one more season, but I'll be honest, it's looking bad imo.

RWBY nowadays exists for fandom writers, shippers, and porn. Not much else tbh. You going to RWBY for the writing? From what I hear they basically turned Adam and Ironwood into "weird incel" and "insane leader" because they were worried that the audience might side with them over the main protagonists.

I enjoyed those first couple of series. But RWBY fans seriously need to just learn to accept when something isn't good anymore. They're like mainline Pokemon fans lmao.

TBH, if you go back to the creation of RWBY as a show, Kerry and Miles were developing much of the world and lore as characters as much as Monty, and he approached those guys instead of the other way around. And enough work was done by them that you could argue they could earn a “created by” credit. However, RWBY itself has only credited Monty as a creator in their openings since V5 at least.

Not sure why the shift is happening.
They're changing it because VIZMedia tried to get Monty onto the project but weren't able to for some reason.

They don't have to have the balls to go out and say "Monty Oum (via a Ouija board) is driving the project".

I saw there was news about RWBY being bought and came here immediately to see if that one guy in this thread somehow managed to get it.

You also have to wonder if Viz will get a solid return from this purchase. Knowing Miles and Kerry, they'll still fuck it up by being their usual selves. If they don't run the company to the ground, then RWBY really is cursed.

Check out the view numbers. ROFL!

I really think Viz will survive RWBY. They’ve got a whole bunch of other IPs that make good money. Besides, the only thing they have to do is wrap up the story just so RWBY can say it has a proper conclusion.

From the wording, there's a chance that everyone else involved will be replaced/recast. If so, I'm down for as many seasons as they want to shit out, if only because the salt will be amazing.
I really wish none of us had any faith in them doing the "right" thing for this. They won't. They're far too prideful. Also blackmail. They have lots of dirt on each other, so they can't drop one without getting screwed over and the deal falls through.

"We're very excited" is pure promotional talk. One of the phrases I learned in marketing 15+ years ago. It usually means that there is uncertainty but you want the audience and investors to feel comfortable. Kind of like how a plane can be having malfunctions and the flight attendants are still smiling and telling you everything is just peachy keen, meanwhile they are throwing up on the inside.

The rwby cast is the embodiment of "designated protagonists", any other character with a half-way reasonable motivation would leap frog to the top of the popularity poll and the writers knew it. Remember, one of the spinoff episodes was made in response to people pointing out how Yang has been a terrible sister to Ruby over the course of the show and it comes off like a fumbled attempt at gaslighting the audience into thinking otherwise.

We should also remember that this will hardly help them. They barely have an audience other than crazed Twitter and Tumblr faggots. Oh, and TV Tropes.

The fact that their partnership with Crunchyroll was barely making them a good profit at all was just the nail in the coffin. They even tried to crowdfund Season 10, and that may have just burned a lot of good will when they had nothing to show for it.

Lets be honest here, the next step in the putrefaction process of this show is creator-sanctioned porn custom made for the usual suspects.

Looking at this post again, and mother of God does he look awful. The absence of any separation between his torso and hips, as well as the way the bar cuts off his legs, it all makes him look like an upright worm instead of a human. This is the thumbnail of the official announcement video, meaning anyone mildly interested in the news gets a crash course on exactly why you should always judge a book by its cover.

If they're going to continue this, there's no way they keep using Maya right? Even if they wanted it in roughly the same Machinima like style, I'm sure there's got to be an overseas studio that could make it look better for less than half the cost of what it was taking RT to do it.

Now that you say this, pretty much everyone involved in RoosterTeeth fell apart completely health wise. Nearly all of them became either fat, alcoholic skeletons, mental cases, or worse than all the above: joke police.

Nearly all
Interestingly, Lindsey (Ruby’s VA) finally lost all that weight that she gained the last decade+, & if you go to the Rooster Teeth thread, some of the old employees or affiliates have begun to stream themselves gaming with friends again. Good for them, whoever moves on, & absolutely fuck all the pissbears, clout seekers & other unbearables who are still crying about losing their massively inflated salaries & not being able to hammer a company into their own perfect echo chamber any longer. RT will remain a lesson of what not to do in company management.

The more I think about Kerry claiming RWBY as his own intellectual property, the worse it seems. That type of behavior follows someone around in a relatively gossipy, small, industry. It’s no surprise that the crowdfunding for a tenth season that he tried to hype up, failed. I remember thinking at the time that he was going about it with no shame, telling his remaining audience that everything was fine, while begging for donors to come save RWBY. It didn’t add up or look honest. He’s some faggot that a guy with an actual idea, saved from being just another fat faggot cog in a (shitty) machine. Kerry would have never touched RWBY if Monty hadn’t ok’d him & he repays that by claiming he created it. Even if it’s not visible atm, (as the remaining fans are excited about the VIZ purchase on social media,) this BS Kerry pulled will plague his professional reputation forever.
