God, I always hated it when people blackwash characters. It always looks super ugly and fucking insulting to the eyes and the races. It feels worse for Blake because it feels like they're trying to make her more minority to emphasize the racism stuff.

Honestly, people who backwash characters come off as either having a fetish for black people (Ironically, playing into a racist stereotype) or pitifully trying to compensate for the lack of black people in a main cast such as RWBY or MHA.

Even if I were white, I disagree with that one guy said the White Fang / Faunus plotline was offensive.
It’s offensive because of the dogshit writing, opposed to anything involving Black People or otherwise and should be pointed out as such;
We owe their existence to the World of Remnant thanks to Monty wanting a Catgirl waifu in his series, let’s not beat around the bush in those regards and when it comes down to it was the racism needed? Monty could’ve taken the approach of maybe an occasional bigot but keep his catgirl, avoided anything trying to ape off of reality such as what treatment African-Americans and others faced in America during the past but unfortunately we don’t get that luxury.
Instead we got a species that cried oppression more times than the average Tumblr NPC, accompanied by a terrorist organization who give us no reason to sympathize with their cause (Due to a lack of proof regarding their ‘mistreatment’) and our only three candidates of this supposed Racism during V1-V3 consisted of a Criminal who didn’t give a shit about what he said, a Bully that shows to be an equal opportunity asshole that treated his targets of the spectrum like shit without special treatment, and one of our Heroes who kinda ends up justified in her prejudice after taking the White Fang into account.
Lets not even get into Adam becoming a Yandere Kylo Ren clone, because the crew felt no need to make him a compelling character and instead we get an incel who’s upset his ex-girlfriend didn’t let him grab a titty over her bra before she went lez.

You know, for once I'm going to give RWBY some props on something in Volume 5, Blake's clunky speech. She didn't 'shame' the faunus to prove they're worthy of respect, she actually made an interesting point. That if one genuinely thinks that system hates them and that everyone else is prejudiced against them, what do they think will change if they sit back and let terrorists speak for them when they have the opportunity to avoid more deaths? Do they think people will just suddenly educate themselves on why they're wrong or change their morals with no catalyst? It's not fair, no, they shouldn't have to suffer said prejudice in the first place, but it's like if someone attacks you with a knife: Yeah, it's unfair that you're put in that situation, but if you don't defend yourself, you're gonna get cut.
