Jac thinks his lawyers can bail him out of helping an invading force attack the kingdom while Ironwood is in charge.
Qrow tells Robyn that the only thing they can do now is murder Ironwood ('The Man responsible for all this')
Watts is still the best character on the villain team.
Atlas soldiers open up Watts's cell to kick his ass, I think?
Ultimately, this scene feels really pointless. It just establishes that the main characters are all in the same prison room and are feeling angry.
Happy Huntress threatens a random reporter so she can yell at people to go to the Crater
I know we can't have an entire city modeled out, but christ, Mantle feels fucking tiny when we have everyone in different scenes and locations going down the same damn street. The street doesn't even get different decorations, it's just empty.
Ruby tells Penny that Ironwood doesn't actually believe in what he's saying, he just wants to hurt people.
Nora presumably snaps Weiss's spine by sucking her up a dust delivery tube when she was laying across the opening.
Yang tells some woman off for racism because she doesn't want to go to the slums. Are Faunus the only ones in the slums? And Yang's speech is clear cringe "The Faunus have been helping everybody they can, no matter if those people deserve it or not.". The show's history paints a different picture, Yang.
Yang and Jaune push Ren to cloak an entire crowd of people all the way back to the slums without even asking if he can do it. Ren is understandably a bit grouchy.
Yang lies again. "Are you sure the slums are safe?" "100%" Last episode it was established, to Yang in particular, that the slums weren't safe, they just need everyone in one spot to help evacuate.
So, the slums we saw in the first episode IS the crater, and people are very easily being evacuated there while Salem sits on her ass.
Oscar and Ozpin suddenly bring up "Oh no, I don't wanna merge with your soul" even though Oscar came to grips with this off screen in volume 6 and no one has even broached this topic until this point. CRWBY have yet to learn to answer criticism without over correcting in the worst ways.
Jaune and Yang act exhausted for some reason. Like, all the show has implied they've done is ride here with civilians and one shot some basic ass Grimm, what the fuck has tuckered them out?
The show continues to act like the characters having a slight disagreement and acting a little grumpy is the big, character-driven conflict people have been asking for.
The Hunter Grimm is truly the saving grace of this episode. He's badass, competent, smart, easily kicks some ass and has the Planet-of-the-apes-style first words I've been calling from the start.
"What happened?" "You wouldn't believe us if we told you." "We're facing an immortal albino sorceress high on Satan Juices with an invading force of unnatural abominations; what's unbelievable about a talking Grimm?" "No, not that." "Then what is it?" "A threatening Grimm." "Okay, now you're just fucking with me."
