Where can I buy
Forget everything you knew from Anomaly/MISERY/popular mods. SoC is all about scavenging. Just loot everything you can find and you'll be unloading ammo into stash boxes in no time. Same with weapons and suits, don't try and buy them, instead loot shit. Gun gets too damaged? Throw it out and loot a better condition one. By the time you're heading for the Brain Scorcher you'll be looting high end weapons from the hordes of Monolithians you'll have to gun down, and then on your way through Pripyat you'll get to loot some Gauss guns as well.

As for buying gear, you have that fat balding greedy Jew Sidorovich in Cordon, his pal Barkeep at the 100 Rads bar, Colonel Petrenko in Duty's base, Professor Sakharov in Yantar and Skinflint in Freedom's base in Army Warehouses. Remember that Sakharov has the best selling rates for artifacts and mutant parts, so hoarding them, then taking a trip to Yantar will be more beneficial.

Oh yeah, very important tip. Don't play STALKER like it's COD. You'll get assraped fast. Take it slow, use cover, lean over walls, use ADS or go prone for best accuracy, take it easy. Taking down all the bandits at the car park solo is piss easy once you get the hang of how you're meant to play STALKER.

This is really good info thanks Slav. Last two questions. Should I aim for center mass since bullet spread is insane in this game also when I play fnv I usually find a house that has a chest where I can store or sell and dupe guns for later. Does something like that exist in SoC or do I just throw out gear I don’t need

At the bar in Rostok there's a chest and that's where I stored all my shit, once you acquire a weapon scope I suggest aiming for the head since you now have much better accuracy and can engage from a further distance.

Try to learn the trajectory and aim with your best judgment. Headshots are more effective but if you have trouble with nailing them, especially with the early game shit guns, aim for center mass. Do remember that you get full accuracy by either going prone (Ctrl+Shift) or using ADS, hip firing will always be inaccurate, and try to fire single rounds/controlled bursts. You can switch firing modes on some guns with -= keys.

There are stash boxes that by default are empty, but will get populated with items once you find it's location from a dead body. There are some stashes that are meant to be used by you as a permastash, mainly the blue crate by the fireplace in Cordon and the blue crate in 100 Rads Bar. Most players use those to dump all their shit in.

But releasing patches in the 100GB range or larger is nothing to brag about. It just shows you released a barely finished game.
Well it mostly shows they don't know how to use the engine's packaging tools properly and can't figure out how to distribute patches efficiently. There's no fucking way they're changing or adding 100GB of data to an existing installation in a patch. They've probably only changed 1-2GB of shit and re-packed everything again, triggering full (archive-sized) file updates instead of doing it intelligently (delta patching is very efficient when done right).

I'm going to laugh my ass off if it turns out they're literally rebuilding the entire game and re-baking all its assets every time they push a patch out.

All I know is I got sick and tired of it, and I uninstalled the game. I have pretty much just given up on STALKER 2.

I remember talking about UE's packaging, for reference, I don't think UE has any sorting when it packages data, it is at the mercy of chance wether or not a script you're packing is being bundled with textures, which often times means you need to redownload the entire packaged chunk to update that one file, this is a consistent problem with every Unreal Engine game, but the claims of people needing to download 100-200gb of the game are all confusion because steam, for a while, started showing you the ammount of Gbs it would need to install and scan, not the ammount you download. So, updates are bigger than they should be because files are packaged in a retarded way forced by the engine, and the user's were getting confused over a change of UI on part of steam which lead them to believe a download was bigger than it is. What I don't get is if GSC has a custom version of 5.1 that they modded, can't they also mod a way to sort files for packing?

In my mind, it never got made and I never was stupid enough to buy it.

Play Anomaly with Old World Addon instead bro, it's 100x better and mega comfy. (I am excited to see a new update soon, it keeps getting teased.)

I got Anomaly. It shouldn't have been released. The game is a dumpster fire and all the coping from the fansoys is disgusting.

Old World is a god send. I think Anomaly is a shitty mil-sim for faggots, and it has almost nothing in common with stalker. Far too much crafting and gear, and endless amounts of bullshit. Because what I liked the most about Stalker was the inventory management, and not the amazing and wonderfully strange game world. That music, which is top tier, helping guide you down into spooky and long abandoned basements, leading into sub complexes with bizarre enemies to go along with the utterly alien experiments going on. No, what I want is to have 8 different anti-rad medications, and long, boring sections of sorting out my bags.

Ranting over, but yeah, if you find the dark souls queers messing up yet another game, old world addon might be something you can enjoy.

Hey now, I like Anomaly because I can mod it to be very intricate but have no problems with Old World (I like it too but find it a bit quaint), no need to be abrasive hombre.

Thoughts on Radiophobia 3? I'm getting close to finishing my first playthrough and I've really enjoyed it.

So I played the trilogy some 2 years ago, and Im saving money for games by the christmas sale. Should I get 2 since it got enough time to get some patches?

Thanks. Maybe next year. Well, I also need to save like 8k to pay back my father's lease that I used to buy my pc (I hate living in the third world) so I can delay games a bit.

Its pretty much only it and Doom The Dark Ages that Im interested this year, and I guess both can wait patches, pure single player and all.

I like the crafting though. Fuck Sid trying to nickel and dime me for everything.

Anomaly by itself allows you to completely and utterly sidestep any ammount of crafting, it is completely superfluous, but Anomaly fucking sucks for reasons aside it's perception on the community.
