Shame what happened to Volition; but by the time of the SR remake, it was already a shambling corpse. This just killed it for good.

Not that I'm some kind of gypsy who can predict the future with a crystal ball or anything, but yes I did call it. Neither here or thereWas it everything you were hoping for?
I've followed the games pretty religiously since 2 came out and laziness has always been the silver bullet affecting nu-Volition. They cut down on content and world interactivity in 3 and 4 because they didn't want to make an open world that 'most people' wouldn't see. The lead dev seemed horribly confused by how the original team even made 2, and there has always been a sense of resentment over that game doing as well as it has because it's objectively better than what they made after.Peck of Info:
A brother of mine works in the IT sector and met a fella who used to work for Volition's QA team. He said that he enjoyed the job while working there for 3 years or so. However he noticed that bugs that were doccumented and reported by him during game development, ended up in the final product. Take with this what you will, but I'd guess serious senior management/lazy devs (I can definitely see this with the Saints Row reboot and their last crappy Agents of shit game).
I wish they stuck to FreeSpace...
This is actually a very common practice in many AAA productions. If it's not a class A bug (for example, something that corrupts saves) then those bugs may get slapped with a DNF. Do Not Fix.However he noticed that bugs that were doccumented and reported by him during game development, ended up in the final product.
There used to be a time before the 2010s where video games were just of the niche parts of nerd culture, but as the case with every piece of said nerd culture out there, video games are considered serious business for the world, including out-of-touch celebrities and/or politicians.Modern game devs are the laziest, entitled faggots in the world. They want to be treated at the same levels as Carmack and Miyamoto without doing any of the work. Fuck these niggas can’t even make a game with properly compressed files anymore.
SR2 is a shitshow on PC and will now likely never be fixed, play it on Xenia. Maybe try Gentlemen of the row mod if you trying to get it working on PC?how the fuck do you fix the sr2 no sound shit in pc?
When normies get into it, the technical quality improves and the "art" quality declines heavily. Every single time. There used to be a time before the 2010s where video games were just of the niche parts of nerd culture, but as the case with every piece of said nerd culture out there, video games are considered serious business for the world, including out-of-touch celebrities and/or politicians.
They wouldn't have put Volition on a port like that when they could just outsource it to another studio like they did the Third Remastered. There is a good chance Volition might still of been in business if after Agents of Mayhem they just decided to make remasters of their old games for a little bit.
That game was an underrated gem.I like Saints' Row as much as the next guy, but I think Volition peaked with their Punisher game from 2005. Has a lot of the same mechanics they would bring to Saints' Row, only this game had the added bonus of letting you torture and interrogate enemies. And having Thomas Jane's gravelly vocals all over the game.
