Not that I'm some kind of gypsy who can predict the future with a crystal ball or anything, but yes I did call it. Neither here or there

Peck of Info:
A brother of mine works in the IT sector and met a fella who used to work for Volition's QA team. He said that he enjoyed the job while working there for 3 years or so. However he noticed that bugs that were doccumented and reported by him during game development, ended up in the final product. Take with this what you will, but I'd guess serious senior management/lazy devs (I can definitely see this with the Saints Row reboot and their last crappy Agents of shit game).
I wish they stuck to FreeSpace...
I've followed the games pretty religiously since 2 came out and laziness has always been the silver bullet affecting nu-Volition. They cut down on content and world interactivity in 3 and 4 because they didn't want to make an open world that 'most people' wouldn't see. The lead dev seemed horribly confused by how the original team even made 2, and there has always been a sense of resentment over that game doing as well as it has because it's objectively better than what they made after.

Also they hired Chipcheezum at one point which always cracks me up .

The reboot was just the culmination of all their worst tendencies. I'm glad they're dead. Fuck you Volition.

This is actually a very common practice in many AAA productions. If it's not a class A bug (for example, something that corrupts saves) then those bugs may get slapped with a DNF. Do Not Fix.
It doesn't help that QA is not treated very well, and devs being diva faggots will sometimes even blame them for finding the bugs, as if they're the ones that created them. Doesn't help that the EAACTIBLIZZTARDKINGSOFTS of the industry rush games out the door like a whore pushing her black, crack addicted, baby daddy out the back door like the cops just pulled up.

Enter the Dominatrix is where Volition died. They just had enough money to continue shuffling around.

They even poke fun at this IN Enter the Dominatrix. They show some corpo fuck walk into the Volition break room and tell them to turn a DLC into a full title, and the Volition employees are like "welp, now we're fucked."

For those who don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. Enter the Dominatrix was supposed to be SR III DLC, and later became SR IV. And then they made it DLC for SR IV, and it's got all the stupid wacky shit people hated about Saints Row.

IdolNinja, a modder who became a part of Volition, spent his last months trying to remaster Saints Row 2 to unfuck it, and Volition said they would continue his work and "eventually" release it.

At least Idolninja never had to see Turquoise Shame.

That Evans laugh is perfect, he's even wearing purple!

I wish I had Musk Money, I'd buy the reboot, and release a five-minute DLC where the actual saints find out about the Turquoise Shame.

The boss reveals that he defaulted on HIS student loans, because he's a criminal.

Then he shoots all of the Nu-Saints in their shitty apartment and turns it into a safehouse that he never visits.

I was in the area so I took some time to stop by and see their offices. There wasn't much to see but you could tell they were starting to clean things out, I saw a cardboard cutout of Zimos moved out to the window
Also saw a poster of Agents of Gayhem, not sure why anyone would proudly show the world they’re responsible for that trash fire but whatever

On one hand I would feel bad because they made SR2 and Red Faction, yet I can't because they also made the mediocre Agents of Mayhem and the god-awful SR reboot, and that would be one thing however since they decided to insult the old fans questioning the direction, they get no tears from me.

I'm not sure whether this would be a better fit in the general Reddit thread or here but this back and forth made me MATI

I don't know why we let retards like these exist, let alone potentially breed. These niggers have absolutely have no idea what the fuck they're talking about, they just see something vaguely capitalism related and use it to go off on their moronic tangents. First of all, Embracer strips companies for resources all the time? That couldn't be any further from the truth, if anything they are too generous with most of these studios, who churn out for the most part utter garbage. This is the third studio in Embracer's ENTIRE HISTORY that they've closed down, and the first one was an irrelevant Square Enix studio that made phone games while the second one never made a single game and never had a chance at making a single competent game (they had 19 people yet they somehow were trying to make large AAA RPGs). And when someone calls them out for just spewing crap, they just respond with more buzzwords and smug gotchas, proving his point. Also "How do you define success?" Here, let me define it. Success is when your last successful game isn't from an entire decade ago. Success is when your brand new IP doesn't bomb and only sells 300K copies. Success is when you listen to your fans and make a game they want instead of a shitty, unfocused crime sandbox that appeals to no one and pisses off everyone and needs 2 million copies to break even with the subsidies from Epic Games and loses your parent company millions of dollars. But no, you choose to ignore all of that in favor of your asinine narrative that one day the nazi incel chuds at Embracer decided to randomly axe a beloved game studio just for kicks while at the same time burning down an orphanage. All of this, and yet you somehow find a way to play victim. Newsflash faggot, you are on Reddit, and a college subreddit at that too. If you're being downvoted so badly why are all of your retarded thoughts having positive karma while anyone who disagrees with you is in the negatives? Why do even most of your "controversial" posts have positive karma? Simple, because your "heccin techbros" boogeyman doesn't exist, you're not anti-establishment, you are the establishment. Almost every college subreddit is full of tards like you who sperg about Communism 24/7 and watch tards like HasanAbi and get mad at anyone trying to have fun. Get bent

Modern game devs are the laziest, entitled faggots in the world. They want to be treated at the same levels as Carmack and Miyamoto without doing any of the work. Fuck these niggas can’t even make a game with properly compressed files anymore.
There used to be a time before the 2010s where video games were just of the niche parts of nerd culture, but as the case with every piece of said nerd culture out there, video games are considered serious business for the world, including out-of-touch celebrities and/or politicians.

In a world where most games just rush out a product, and they'll have to fix patches, and you have to buy DLC... that's enough! It's sad marketing tactics that make studios lazy.

how the fuck do you fix the sr2 no sound shit in pc?
SR2 is a shitshow on PC and will now likely never be fixed, play it on Xenia. Maybe try Gentlemen of the row mod if you trying to get it working on PC?
Such a shame. Loved Saints Row 2, 3, and 4 all in their own special ways, you can see the series declining and 4 gets too silly but Third and that game's remaster really stick with me.

When normies get into it, the technical quality improves and the "art" quality declines heavily. Every single time.

There is a good chance Volition might still of been in business if after Agents of Mayhem they just decided to make remasters of their old games for a little bit.

They wouldn't have put Volition on a port like that when they could just outsource it to another studio like they did the Third Remastered.
Which if you'll remember, turned out to be a steaming piece of shit.

I only feel pity for Mike Watson here. The man spent his last living days on this planet, dying from terminal cancer, to give the Saints Row community the greatest gift he could give them, because he cared so much about this franchise and it's fans, only for it to be completely jeopardized by corporate fuckery after he died.

And it seems that most likely they will shelve it and keep all the source code to themselves like typical corporate AAA fucks, throwing Watson's hard work into the sewer.

Fuck Deep Silver, and fuck Embracer for all of this. I hope every single suit in those companies goes bankrupt for what they did.

I like Saints' Row as much as the next guy, but I think Volition peaked with their Punisher game from 2005. Has a lot of the same mechanics they would bring to Saints' Row, only this game had the added bonus of letting you torture and interrogate enemies. And having Thomas Jane's gravelly vocals all over the game.

That game was an underrated gem.
