I mean, this a literal zodiac killer we're dealing with. Any Jigsaw killer can be more of an imposter, yet nobody would know until it's too late.I'll probably see this since I've seen all the films except for Spiral (just keep forgetting to watch it). Seems interesting in concept where Jigsaw doesn't hide from the game this time since it's way too personal, but it does seem odd regarding the already weird timeline in the series. Also, how many fucking factories does this city have for the cops to never find the games before it's too late?
I can think of a few franchises where the sequels were better than the original:Same tbh. Like, there’s s legit discussion to have about the Saw series and its merit besides faggot saying ‘Only the first one was good’, which is the generic reply they say about every single fucking horror series and its boring.
Or what about that shitty spin-off Spiral? I cannot believe this series has endured for basically 20 YEARS.people still care about Saw after Saw 3?
Personally I would add Hellraiser II to the list. I really love what Atkins built on foundations laid by Barker in terms of mythology.I can think of a few franchises where the sequels were better than the original:
Funny, I was going to mention Hellbound but most fans would agree that it's equally as good and see 1 and 2 as one long movie.Personally I would add Hellraiser II to the list. I really love what Atkins built on foundations laid by Barker in terms of mythology.
As for Saw - if the story is convoluted enough and they somehow squeeze another outlandish twist there - I'm game.
A plot I thought about then, probably cliche as shit. The original Jigsaw dies and arrives into the Hellraiser weird hell dimension. He meets the Cenobites and is told that he did so well he gets to be the arbiter of who gets tortured forever and who gets reborn.Alright I won't lie, I could see that.

Jigsaw does his normal modus operandi but progressively gets grander and more malevolent, with him physically changing to look more like a cenobite. Eventually he makes his greatest contraption, a puzzle cube, each part razor sharp. He gives his next victim, a young woman, to be the first to try it and she fails in it, Jigsaw happily tells her she will be punished forever since that failure obviously means she doesn't repent on her past actions.
Immediately afterwards Pinhead comes to Jigsaw, he informs him that he did a great work and that he was surprised how ruthless he was, after all, his last victim was his wife.
On that realization Jigsaw collapses and screams at Pinhead and curses him. Pinhead fires back how he was overjoyed at inflicting suffering, and as punishment for his bitterness he will now spend eternity in the hell dimension, alone only with the cube and the knowledge that his wife's soul is damned because of him.
The End.
I've seen Saw being comparable to something like Se7en, and watching it, I understand the comparison. But Se7en wasn't a horror movie as it was also a psychological crime thriller.I imagine the Saw Legal Thriller ending with the Jury finding him not guilty
I'd say FD is that one in a million franchise where 5th installment is the best one somehowFinal Destination (most go with part 2)
Damn right.Another unpopular opinion: Sleepaway Camp 2 is better than the first movie.
For me, it's the second best as it's a return to form since the second film. The third film had some drama, but it was a bit more tongue-in-cheek. The fourth film, however, was embracing the idea of its over-the-top death scenes that it somehow acts like a slapstick cartoon similar to that of either Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry or SpongeBob.I'd say FD is that one in a million franchise where 5th installment is the best one somehow
I'd say the third one is the best of the Purge franchiseThe Purge (part 2 being miles better than the 1st movie)
The character of Hoffman was the only thing making the later entries bearable.people still care about Saw after Saw 3?
Horror has always been low-risk, high(ish)-reward in terms of money, but Saw movies are especially cheap to make and consistently have done well at the domestic box office so they aren't much of a gamble. Spiral though really shit the bed but you can blame COVID I guess. How are these movies still getting greenlit?
Paranormal Activity and Final Destination already repeated the horror movie trope Saw established of getting hyped, doing gangbusters at the box office, and then slowly failing yet somehow Saw is still trucking on. Tobin Bell's like 80 now.
Nostalgia. Every big name company wants to inject nostalgia rather than focusing on something originalHow are these movies still getting greenlit?
