SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

Thanks for the info; also, apologizes for being autistic, it's just... kinda upsetting to see another solid setting like this get destroyed by troons, you know?
Oh no. I don't think you're autistic for being upset. I agree. I'm tired of troons ruining what I like from youtubers, to games (like borderlands 3 for example. Rip borderlands the series) to stuff like mtg dnd etc. It sucks.

Anyway, back on topic; was wanting to ask, anyone got suggestions for getting into the SPC stuff? Like, what should I read up on, and what should I try and find?
Mangg from Exploring Series is currently doing a reading for the SCP anthology hub. Some of the entries are actually not that bad, I'll just post the ones that I like.

Start here, although I'm not sure why you're asking about the Shark Punching Center in the thread about the SCP Foundation.

Also, with the SCP Foundation being taken over by troons and degenerates these days, what about the other groups that exist in the lore, like the GOC and Chaos Insurgency?
Most of the Groups of Interest that exist bounce between being reasonably normal and focused on their themes and associated objects or completely choked out by the same woke menace that plagues the site, and it mostly seems to pertain to whether or not the group can be related to modern society. On the mostly good side, we have the Mekhanites/Church of the Broken God and the Sarkic Cults, who continue to act as opposing factions composed of AdMech-looking guys trying to restore a machine-god and defeat the other faction composed of sick fucks who create stuff best compared to the Thing from Outer Space in the name of Yaldaboath. On the flipside of awful GOI's we have Dr. Wondertainment, who went from a toy company creating dangerous and weird products to a lesbian clown engaging in Deadpool Quinn shenanigans, and Gamers Against Weed, a constant stream of left-wing internet culture and propaganda disguised as Skips. It goes without saying I prefer the lore related to the Mekhane and Sarkic conflict when having to deal with anything resembling an overarching continuity compared to a lot of the things that exist nowadays.

Any groups that are explicitly "right-wing" in the SCP-verse these days? Because we all know for a fact that there's got to be something; given how obsessed with "nazis" the woke are these days, it wouldn't surprise me if one of the groups was (re)written to cater to the "kill evil white/right-wing people" fetish.

The closest I can think of is “The Factory,” which is apparently a really depraved manufacturing company that is a living caricature of what commies think capitalism is. They make people work 16-hour shifts, shoot anybody that can't work when they don't turn them into Servitors, use children as breeding stock, and have a fake college loan collection to force people to give up everything the have to them. Most of their big articles were made by DJKaktus, who you've probably seen mentioned in the thread before as a really obnoxious leftist, or Dr. Bright, again a common name when dealing with staff fuckery. Kaktus also made an article for the 5000 competition that literally made Donald Trump an SCP containing a demon in the White House, just to give you an idea of how obnoxious he is.

There's always the good old Global Occult Coalition.
SCP: NOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST DESTROY DANGEROUS ANOMALIES, MUH HECKIN MORALS!!!!!!
GOC: Throw it in the woodchipper.

Thanks for the information, both of you.

One last question; apologizes for going back to this one, but what about the Chaos Insurgency? I know that they're supposed to be a group of former Foundation members that turned on the group to free the SCPs to "better mankind" - at least, that's what I've been told - though most of the stuff I've seen the Chaos Insurgency in just has this nameless, faceless enemy for the Foundation to fight. What do you guys think?

I've always liked the GOC's side of the story, where they note that the woodchipper incident was met with disapproval and sanctions because it was both sloppy and said excessive force against a harmless anomaly led to it becoming much more dangerous. I like the idea that the Coalition is nowhere near as extreme as the Foundation makes them out to be, and the main contention comes down to the Foundation's refusal to terminate dangerous beings and running through D-Class personnel like candy as part of containment procedures, leading to the SCP articles detailing the more unreasonable incidences by the Coalition to paint the picture of a bloodthirsty paramilitary who kills anything supernatural, while the Coalition is mostly unconcerned with harmless anomalies.

has anyone else read The Laundry Files? it's a novella series similar to SCP
I have the novels but have never personally read them. They are really more like H.P. Lovecraft mixed with Spy Fiction, James Bond primarily. I heard the author is woke, but I'm not sure how woke his books are. I'm more familiar with the tabletop game (I've primarily read some of the source books).

There are 12 books in the series with a few of them being part of a offshoot trilogy set in the same universe. The first few books are some of my favorite books ever... I've always been a fan of HPL and The Laundry Files is basically x-files but it's all real and it's not ghosties and aliens but cthulhu mythos entities and servitors. Or if you're familiar with Delta Green.. it's less military and more humor.

Anyway for the first 5 books there is a side character, the MCs wife who he saved in (or before) book one and she joined the group. He spends the first five books of the series worshiping the ground this woman walks on. She's a beautiful talented musician and he's literally an IT nerd. And she loves him and he's lucky and he knows it.

Then book six comes along, "The Annihilation Score" because of the power creep involved with the MC in the first five novels Stoss (the author) is having problems finding situations where the MC would actually be challenged. Yes he done fucked up. So in this novel the wife is the mc and we see things thru her pov. And she absolutely loathes Bob (the mc of most of the series) looks down on him, thinks he's an idiot, has an almost affair with some guy. To say it put off much of the fan base is an understatement. From there on the MC of the novels are various other members of the Laundry, one an ex of Bobs who seems to have better feelings for him than his wife. It isn't until the latest in the series the 12th book which is only a novella that we get back to Bob.

Personally while I love the idea of the Laundry, book six really put a sour taste in my mouth when it comes to the rest of the series.

read the anything up to 1500 or so. some got vandalized and changed by the troon admins, but for the most part it still holds up.
for me it still works best when the foundation and other factions are that nebulous entity that does shit and you read about weird stuff they deal with. trying to go into the "background" and logic too much (unless properly set up from the start) usually ends like shit, because it can never measure up to the ambiguity you filled in your head. it's also a common fanfiction trope trying to explain things that simply aren't necessary or trying to make the headcanon "canon" (which often isn't malicious, but still...).

you could also play control, it's kinda SCP + warehouse 13 meets x-files.

another SCP-like novel is The Breach by Patrick Lee
it has a lot of similarities with SCP and Control; extradimensional objects being locked up and classified by a secret organization, a weird realm that scientists accidentally tore open where anomalies come from, and paramilitary groups using paranormal tech for their own advantage

I'm sure this is obvious to the internet greybeards around here, but I've just found out that the "Things Dr. Bright isn't allowed to do" list, posted in 2008, may be heavily inspired by the "Things Mr. Welch Is No Longer Allowed to Do in an RPG" blog, posted in 2005.
As the name suggests, it's about the player Mr. Welch and all the things that made the DM's eye twitch which he isn't allowed to do anymore.
The Welch list itself may in turn have been inspired by "Skippy's List", posted in 2001, about an extremely bored soldier and the real life stuff he got into.

Oh man I forgot all about this. I think you just knocked a dusty web of memories loose for me. This shit was all over tabletop blogs in the 00's. It's funny how stuff can be so omnipresent in certain niche's and then just vanish.
