Make it a rule that if you are going to stand on your soapbox and regurgitate your unsolicited political opinion, you also have to provide a valid counterpoint to your argument in the same post or it gets removed. If you can't encourage them to think critically, force them. Politisperging is just like griefing in a video game, they do it because it guarantees a reaction and actively pisses off other people. Make it as unfun to politisperg as possible, so if they want to treat the site as their personal debate corner, enact strict debate rules all over A&H. No personal attacks, all posts must encourage further discussion etc.

I agree that we need an articles and news forum. It's a great place to go for news and commentary that is out of the ordinary. You won't get that kind of discussion anyplace else and it boggles the mind that it bothers people so much simply because it exists. I kinda remember A&N getting cancelled back in the day because some of the users couldn't handle the discussions that went on there, but it got brought back.

How about this? Threadbans for anyone who goes there just to cause trouble. There's an obvious difference between disagreement and starting shit, and that will be up to the moderator to give a warning, then a threadban. No crying about it. Once it's done, it's done. There are always other threads. If someone keeps doing it, going from thread to thread to start shit, just give them a sitewide ban. They're not worth having around.

Encourage members to use the ignore button for people they can't stand but who aren't breaking any rules. Fedposting obviously is an immediate sitewide ban.

But I mean, you got to keep it up! There are some great articles in there. @CatParty finds some amazing shit. @Larry David's Opera Cape too. I love how they seem to scour the internet for some of the most ridiculous shit you can imagine, but it's all written in complete seriousness. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems like the people who have a problem with some of the users and opinions in A&H are the ones causing the problems, and by problems, I mean crying about it constantly, probably crying to null about it and to other mods about it. There are definitely some shit tier users who only post there who could probably go, but most of the regular posters are fine. I think you could give a stern warning to all the shit users that they'll be banned from that forum, possibly banned sitewide if they don't straighten up, which will keep them on their toes. If they keep acting out, they can gtfo.

And the people who just have a problem with A&H existing because "their opinions don't line up with mine!" tell them to get a life, use their ignore button more frequently, and just stay away if they're so bothered by it. It's amazing to me that on an lolcow website you have to tell people this. The whole reason this site exists is because lolcows can't stay the fuck away from the internet, but we have users, mostly users from 2018 on, that can't stay the fuck away from opinions that hurt their feelings in A&N, or anywhere else on the site for that matter.

I absolutely agree that A&N fills a special niche in KF, and even the wider Internet as a whole. The range and obscurity of articles posted are nothing short of astounding at times, and not many sites exist that'll have an article complaining about public opinion of a court ruling side by side with an article talking in-depth about the latest development of breeder reactor efficiency and output (Please post more engineering/physics articles by the way, I love reading them). While this site is united in the culture of laughing at retards on the Internet, within and without, the sections like A&N, Happenings, and Off-Topic allow for showing just how much of a diversity in background there is behind it all. I think that's something we need to try to keep in mind, as a good few posters here seem quite keen on throwing the proverbial baby out with the bathwater.

My understanding is that the reactions were being weaponised, you sperg a little too hard today and tomorrow when you make a relevant post in a different thread you were likely to get a bunch of negative reactions from people. Retaliation of the same kind and eventually reactions had little or nothing to do with what was being reacted to. This resulted in the jannies having a bunch of people crying to them to remove the negative reactions because they were unwarranted in the first place. Or some shit like that.
Also people posting without actually contributing to the thread in any meaningful way. Someone finding the appropriate thread and dropping a "Trump amirite LMAO" would power level them with either the positive or negative reactions they were seeking.

Restricting the reactions to simply "like" or "agree" would kill almost all of that shit. If people disagree with each other they actually have to articulate why or forget it and move on. The shit flinging would hopefully more resemble our current interaction than what the board has now, and anyone likely to cross a line or fed post would hopefully end up doing it sooner and in a more blatant way. I think here lies the problem. I'm not a wingnat and neither are the majority of users who post in the Biden megathread, A or H. Personally the preservation of the white race is not my top concern and I (and a lot of others in a similar boat to me) believe that mass immigration is intentional and is done for nefarious purposes. For me, the reason is due to how demographics vote, so Cubans are to be kept out, but Central Americans, Afghanis et al are to be let in. Many MSM sources repeatedly state that time is on democrats side and HHH has said explicitly on TES that Texas will turn blue due to an increase in Hispanic population.

I think the only problem with A&H is the userbase keeps forgetting that Kiwi Farms does not exist solely to host A&H and cater to their interests . To that extent.

- make A&H invisible for anyone <100 posts, to prevent more retards arriving every time there's a mass shooting
- make HHH the lead moderator, against his will if need be. Loudly advertise that he is lead moderator and King of A&H
- make some bots with obvious tranny avatars that occasionally botpost soytalk in A&H and are clearly marked as A&H moderators
- make a bot with a seizure avatar that replies to every A&H post with slurs in it to say "Yikes friendo, not a good look".
- put a big flashing banner at the top of A&H and every A&H thread reminding everyone that A&H posters are the niggers of kiwi farms
- make it a tempbannable offence to wander out of A&H and start sperging about jews, niggers or trannies in a thread that has nothing to do with them
- make it so every time you try to post in an A&H thread it opens a popup where you have to click a little box acknowledging that you're a massive faggot for posting in A&H, accepting that you are seen as an unwanted nigger by the rest of us, and agreeing that transwomen are women
- put a custom user banner on anyone with >80% posts in A&H that clearly identifies them as a nigger
- every time somebody makes a post in A&H it should play a little recording of you saying "You are unwelcome on my website and I'd be happy if you left"
- Wordfilter a bunch of slurs to the most politically correct terms available in current year
- Take away even more of their ratings because that sure seemed to upset them the first time
