Selecting a Despot for the Autism Thunderdome

Honestly, I wouldn't put @Hollywood Hulk Hogan as head mod, but as one of the mod council. I think him as head mod would honestly stir up too much drama. No offense.

We've got into shit-posting arguments, but those were just fun. We need someone like him and I honestly don't think he's just going to go on a banning spree like some other autists would.

I really think an oligarchy type deal is the way to go. 5 mods, head mod as tie breaker for major decisions. Like a supreme court. Only retarded.

EDIT:
And if @Null wants as little rules as possible, I can go to four:

a) Civility: Don't just degenerate to name calling, it adds nothing. Use name calling with your arguments.
b) Off-Topic arguments Where They Don't Belong: Abortion in abortion threads, guns in gun threads. I don't want to see an article on a cute animal and then the next five pages is somehow devoted to female genital mutilation because it occurred in one of those countries.
c) Necroing: No necroing of threads unless there is new information (an actual article, not an opinion piece. An opinion piece would be a new thread. And not your fucking opinion). This leads to people posting as if it were current, only to realize its like from 5 years ago.
d) No one word responses: Same as it ever was.

As a site-wide rule:

a) If you want to talk about politics and lolcows, it sticks in A&H in a separate forum. It doesn't bleed into anything else, so people who don't want to deal with it don't have to. Another forum would be good for this.

If we want article 'standards', then just one:

a) If it is a parody article or an article from a batshit site, two new tags that mark them as such so people know to not take it seriously or know what it is so they can discuss appropriately. That's about it.

Why haven't they just been doing that the whole time, though?
because @Hollywood Hulk Hogan will attract the exact type of people that no one wants here, then he can just ban them.

no, let the chaos unfold.

If it's HHH, either the mass reporting will stop or it will increase ten fold just to try to drive him insane.
When I first said that I'd support HHH, it was ironic. But I think my support has stopped being ironic. HHH would do a wonderful job scaring off the faggots who take dick better than they take jokes.

Good god, would you look at that, even a mod shares my opinion. If we get the Hulkster as a a true and True and Honest mod, I will never stop laughing.

Here's a few ideas to make A&N slightly less terrible. I'll start with the obvious, and from there degrade to my own personal opinions on what would help..
1. No reposting the same articles. Sometimes people are too trigger happy and want to be the first one to post the article about the cannibal tranny drag queen police officer who shot a transracial black kid that they don't notice that it was already posted. That's okay, mistakes happen. Except that mistake should just be deleted. Don't merge the threads, because that will just teach people not to look before creating a thread because "the jannies will just merge it for me."
2. Threadban people who necro threads without posting relevant new information. If an article hasn't generated any new discussion in a month*, you don't need to comment on it as if it's a brand new article. This idea strictly applies to people who just post a response that doesn't further the already dead conversation. If someone bumps a thread with new information, that's fine, especially if they're sharing a new article about the topic. (For example, the Oberlin College article was originally posted in 2019, but still gets bumped with new discussion as the court cases play out. This is fine.)
3. Limit/Ban off topic discussion. Discussion should be on the article itself, plus whatever topic the article is about. Yes, the author of the article is Jewish. We know, Jews are bad. You don't need to sperge about it for several pages when the article is about a children's soccer match or something.
4. No Satire. At best, satirical articles are somewhat humorous, or simply meant to illicit a negative response just by reading the headline. At worst, they're basically boomer fanfiction meant to trick old people into embarrassing themselves by sharing them in earnest on Facebook. . No real discussion can be derived from these articles because they're straight up factually not true. All it leads to is people posting "This can't be true! This isn't true, right? Tell me it's satire! I can't believe people would actually think this is real!"
5. In cases where a dozen articles about the same topic are coming out daily, those articles should either be contained in an A&N megathread (articles about drag queens story hours, articles about groomer teachers), or posted in the relevant Happenings threads (articles about Johnny Depp's and Amber Heard's legal case, the current latest school shooting). We don't need several threads on the first page all about the same person/event.
6. Limit the number of articles a person can post a day. Frankly, we don't people posting every little article they find every day. All it does it clog up the front page with bullshit that really doesn't need much discussion. If the article really is that big and newsworthy, chances are someone else will post it for you.

*A month, 6 months, a year. Whatever length of time the powers that be decide is appropriate. With the number of threads posted daily, I feel a thread that already hasn't had a new post in a month is probably old enough to where there isn't much more that needs to be said, unless again new information comes out that's worthy to share.

Fuck you guys I am gonna pull a 5 star HUlk Hogan

@Hollywood Hulk Hogan are you the person considering the role?

What qualities would you like to see on a PowerPoint for members of your council?
I said I would do it only if I was allowed to abuse my power to fuck with people who, I assume, are the people he doesn't want here.

I also would want to be able to set word filters.

I don't expect @Null to accept my conditions, nor would I blame him for not doing so, and probably nor should he. I also wouldn't want to spend every waking hour of every day dealing with A&H mod duties, which might be what is required because of the clusterfuck it is

My idea involved shifts for a reason. This is a slogging job. You can't do it all the time. The despot needs to set rules and audit compliance. Looking at rules and how they are enforced, strive for consistency. The mods need to put on their hats in shifts... But more importantly, take them off.

Lolcow boards have natural ebb and flow. Even Chantal who is on all the time. Current events never shuts up. I think this is the main factor missing from the current strategy.

You're too thirsty.
Big talk coming from you dude. The logical disconnect of putting a sperg in charge of preventing spergery is a bit much, plus there is an almost certain guarantee he'll abuse the position for petty bullshit. Although it would be fitting to put a known tranny as a mod, just to make thus site even closer to reddit than it already is.
