(I do, however, think it would be hilarious if someone could find The Classic in his size, and send it to him.)

I stopped by my local Goodwill a couple days ago just for the hell of it and looked for a Classic, but I didn't see one. I do think it would have interesting results, though, if only because he identified so strongly with that article of clothing for such a long time.

The reason the discussion is still going on is because it is utterly baffling to myself and alot of people that people are still donating despite knowing full well that anything they give is going to be squandered. People need to realize that chris and his mother are going to be taken care of whether it be by local charities, insurance or the government through the welfare and social security they get. How many of you donated to him before this happened? I bet very very few of you because you know he would have wasted it... well you guys of all people should now that chris is incorrigible and any money he gets after the fire will be wasted on the same crap as before. If you send him gift cards it just means that he has more money to spend on video games and sex toys. Chris is just not a rational actor. At some level the people donating must think that they really are helping someone in and need and that maybe chris might come out of this situation a better person.
I think this thread is still going on simply to help divert some of the talk on the donations away from the main discussion thread, exactly like A-Stump said in the first post.

He doesn't want another Classic. He stopped wearing it intentionally.

Who cares what Chris wants? He needs wearable clothes, and it's not like his fashion sense improved after he moved on from the classic.

I'm looking forward to his new Hammer Pants / Dukakis Bentsen '88 shirt combo.

Charity isn't earned, charity is given. People are giving to Chris because the empathize with his plight and are concerned for his well being. Whether Chris knows it or not (and god-bear help him, he probably doesn't) this may be the first time in his life people have seen him as a human being first and autistic man-child second. Well, except for when Bob died. It's too bad that the only time people feel for him is when something tragic happens.

The people who are giving money know the risks. It's unknown how Chris will use the money. Given their current situation, I have a feeling that most of it will be put to good use. Will some of it be spent on pointless shit? Probably, especially once their basic needs are met. The thing is, Chris is now in a position where he's going to suffer a lot if he blows what little money he's getting on video games. For the first time in his life he's going to be faced with an adult decision: do I want to have fun or do I want to eat and stay warm?

I also find it hard to blame Chris if he does end up spending some of the money on something he finds comforting rather than what he needs to survive. He's just been through a very traumatic experience, especially for someone with autism, and I can completely understand why he would want to distract himself from that. Assuming Barb isn't in control of Chris' finances at this point, it's up to him to make the right decision, and the real world will reward or punish him based on what he decides.

I can see it now... a sooty, broken Chris in a pristine hotel room, shuddering in shock His whole world has been taken from him. His games, his drawings, his very identity still smoldering. His autistic mind barely recognizes the long-haired man in the mirror. He wonders what to make of himself as he opens the box. His hands grab the fabric on top of the pile and he holds it up high...

Truly, such a "shame" when a shitty person who refuses to change gets so little sympathy. :alog:

Who cares what Chris wants?

The people donating.

If you go out of your way to find a Classic and send it to him, he's going to think your trolling him.

Maybe you could twist it around and say that you specifically got it for him because of how big a part of his identity it was. Of course, he still might turn it down, but it might be worth a try if you can find a Classic for a few bucks in a thrift store.

Yeah, maybe. But, if you say you are from the CWCki (or probably just "online" in general) he's going to be suspicious to begin with.

the note should read: "hi chris, we've been watching you"

IIRC Null was going to sign it from "fans" or something.
Honestly, I don't think Chris will turn down 800 bucks of free anything, he's just not that stupid, and he also can't say "HA! I tricked the trolls into giving me all this stuff"

Did Chris actually say he stopped wearing the Classic intentionally? I know we've speculated that he thinks wearing normal clothes is like a "disguise" to hide from the trolls, but I've seen nothing to confirm this.

To me, it seems just as likely it shredded to the point of unwearability, was chewed up in the wash on the rare occasion it made it there, or was lost in the hoard.

if he said it was intentional, he's just basically blaming trolls for his gaining too much weight to fit into his old shirts.

Honesty there's nothing wrong with the classic. It's nothing crazy or head turning, it was just a red and blue rugby shirt.
And yes CatParty I am new here, ignore my ranking
