Null said he's sending the excess money in a money order for Barb, but I don't know if he's done that yet. And it's about $911 in donations.

Eh, what can you do.Medley said:Sending him supplies means he can instead spend his tugboat on useless crap.
So what? It's his to spend on whatever he wants. What he does with anything he receives is solely his decision, anyone donating knew that up front. Nothing went out with stipulations about what he does with it, or what he does with other money if donations loosen the reins on that. The only real message attached is implied, not explicit: "This might help, unless you're stupid with it." That's the sum total of all the influence anyone could expect to have over what Chris does, and everyone donating knew that up front. Yes, he's an ass, and if anyone could find a way to fuck things up at a time like this, it's him. The boy has a sort of hideous ingenuity for inviting ruin, so no one should be surprised or disappointed if he manages to blow it somehow . The point is that If he fucks it up that's his problem, not that of anyone here. If he found a way to turn everything into cash to blow on hookers, inflatable gal-pals, lingerie, and video porn there'd be a bunch of snickering and some eye-rolls on this end, probably accompanied by some pretty funny forum threads. That's fine with me. If he manages to show a little responsibility and put things to good use, that's fine too.Medley said:Sending him supplies means he can instead spend his tugboat on useless crap.

What I find baffling is how worked up some people are getting about it. The forum's usual nonchalant laissez-faire vibe of amused detachment is lacking in this thread; people seem to be forgetting that posters are required to be either 1) well-reasoned, on topic, and well-stated, or 2) funny. (joke)

That's actually one of the things that's been bugging me about the whole donation thing. It's that we're not leaving things alone. I understand that when shit happens some people want to help those affected get back on their feet, even if it's people like the Chandlers, so if someone posted links to a site where they could donate I'd understand. But the idea of a care package being put together by some of the CWCKI forum members just seems to me like were no longer the neutral, let's just sit back and observe forum we're suppose to be. I mean if someone had proposed that we raise a fund so 14 Branchland Court could be cleaned up before it suffer structural damage/becomes a health hazard due to mold/catches fire/in general becomes uninhabitable, they'd of been told 'not our problem'.Smokedaddy said:What I find baffling is how worked up some people are getting about it. The only way that works to any satisfactory conclusion is if he uses your specific money to buy the coffee maker that burns down his hotel.
And while I think that this quixotic MANOS Across Ruckersville charitable campaign is silly, it's nothing to get worked up about. It will probably end up amounting to less than what he normally receives from the government for being a fuckwit. They are in dire need of living essentials, and those eat away hundreds of dollars very quickly. Chris burning down his own house is going to result in both of them being extremely impoverished for the remainder of their lives. They always had the buffer that was 14BC. It was shelter and comfort. Now everything they had is for all intents gone. They won't be put up in that hotel forever. So if you think Chris is going to spoil himself, in the end the Chandlers will have no house and probably no insurance to think about getting a new home. Chris may win the pettiest battles, but he loses every single war.

ChurchOfGodBear said:Did Chris actually say he stopped wearing the Classic intentionally? I know we've speculated that he thinks wearing normal clothes is like a "disguise" to hide from the trolls, but I've seen nothing to confirm this.
:tomgirl: said:Also, here is another way to consider me, I am a Ken doll any Barbie CAN dress in her clothes, and I would feel most comfortable in them and to model them for her. Come shopping with me, sweetie.![]()

Does every sperg/autist/freakshow on ED or 4chan or wherever get a collection dish now?
It's really quite hypocritical, this is the same community who would be laughing at him about to go to jail for his own actions which had nothing to do with us. I didn't see a drive to help pay his legal fees when he could have quite possibly landed in jail which could have literally killed him or done far worse psych damage than losing his house.
If you break the law, you deserve to go to jail. That's kind of what makes it "the law".
No one deserves to have their house burned down.
Exactly nobody deserves to have their house burned down which is why you have insurance
DrChristianTroy said:Ummm there are tons of times where he doesn't get special treatment. See his bannings, loss of friends and daily battle with physical health. It isn't like he never suffers consequences for his actions. Should he have been charged more for hitting Snyder? Maybe. But he lucked out that day and continued to exist.mrwhopee said:Smutley said:It's apparent that nothing is going to change your mind on Chris getting assistance when "other people" don't get it. And that's totally fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But the reasons people have donated are many and varied. It's a bit rude, and narcissistic, to not extend that outwards and believe that other people may actually do things that you don't agree with for reasons that are equally right.
You didn't answer my question though, what would be wrong with him not getting special treatment for once in his life?
