When he went full tomgirl he thought one of the bonuses of not wearing his old shirts and medallion is nobody would recognize him. Yeah, to him wearing make-up and womens' clothing is somehow flying under the radar.

That's actually one of the things that's been bugging me about the whole donation thing. It's that we're not leaving things alone. I understand that when shit happens some people want to help those affected get back on their feet, even if it's people like the Chandlers, so if someone posted links to a site where they could donate I'd understand. But the idea of a care package being put together by some of the CWCKI forum members just seems to me like were no longer the neutral, let's just sit back and observe forum we're suppose to be. I mean if someone had proposed that we raise a fund so 14 Branchland Court could be cleaned up before it suffer structural damage/becomes a health hazard due to mold/catches fire/in general becomes uninhabitable, they'd of been told 'not our problem'.
Agreed, I think this charitable drive is the anomaly for this forum, which is why it's stirring some controversy. I think it merits discussion, just because it's interesting to see which social lines need to be crossed to move CWCki forum regulars to defy Starfleet's Prime Directive. I feel I'm learning more about the people behind the witty screen names and avatars, watching an actual call to action, and it's neat!

Group hug, mofos! :heart-full:

Honestly I would totally back giving Chris comically oversized bags of money.

Or gift cards if you want.

Totally Off Topic:

Years ago I was out with my father picking up take out and he was all, "Shit I left my wallet at home, there's some money under the passenger seat, go get it for me?" Well I go out and look under there and he has a small burlap bag tied with baling twine full of those gold Sacajawea $1 coins. I bring him 30 of them and am all, "What the hell?" and he just shrugs.

"Wanted to see what it felt like having a big ol' sack of gold with me."

But I'd so back this idea too.

What I find baffling is how worked up some people are getting about it. The forum's usual nonchalant laissez-faire vibe of amused detachment is lacking in this thread; people seem to be forgetting that posters are required to be either 1) well-reasoned, on topic, and well-stated, or 2) funny. (joke)

I know people have already made up their minds and either donated or chose not to, I just wanted to get this off my chest.
The hoard is a little bit different from the house burning down. The hoard is an intentional act by Barb. It's her decision to live that way. And until Chris is declared legally a child (or incapable of taking care of himself or whatever people with severe mental disabilities get), it's his choice to live that way too.

The house burning down is a lot more of an actual calamity or tragedy. It was unexpected from their point of view. It's not unreasonable for us to put things on hold for a moment and try to help him out in this situation, just out of being a decent human being. You don't have to donate, I didn't, but there's clearly nothing wrong nor inconsistent with doing it.

Bob dying was another tragedy, for example.

I don't think this forum has ever enforced a Prime Directive approach to Chris. When PCA met Chris IRL there was no forum backlash about getting in contact. Thetan was a regular member until she gained close contact to Chris and started to leak content and she ended up being promoted to VIP status for it. So there's no 'no contact with Chris whatsoever' attitude here.

As Holdek said, the rules specifically state 'No trolling plans' and 'Stop trying to directly, or indirectly, chastise Chris through your posts.' Essentially, the forum doesn't encourage trolling or berating Chris. He gets enough of that from weens already and for every Liquid Chris there's 1000 shitty failed trolling attempts. Chris doesn't respond to most messages nowadays so if this forum engaged in trolling attempts then 99% of the topics here would be failed trolling attempts or rants emailed to him calling him a retard for the thousandth time, so these are discouraged. But if you're smart about it and you find a way to get in contact with Chris then the content will be appreciated. The problem is it's difficult to publically post about here because Chris does read these forums and is very easy to spook nowadays if he suspects you're a troll.

that's the thing. sometimes you just end up in the middle of the cwc firestorm. like wasn't alec just making his asperchu for fun until chris raged against him?

Chris doxed himself online years ago. It has caused him plenty of annoyance, but a few perks over the years. He won a Guitar Hero contest once, and now he's getting donations from his home burning. People who are bothered by Chris receiving charity just come off like they are jealous.

There was a thread earlier about how some people sent Chris stuff. Some of it was useless (like Pringle lids) and some of it was useful (like BK coupons).

Hey, which one of you :ween: 's sent Chris a Keurig :tomgirl:

So it's not completely unprecedented that people would send him stuff. What's unprecedented is how much stuff we're sending him.

New update ^
Does this make a difference to anyone? Somewhat of a dick move on their part, thinking like that. Ignoring the fact they have people who live near them.

If you're not comfortable donating money or gift cards, maybe you can donate a Dali print.

I don't see why Barb is so pissed off. The house is literally full of melted clocks now. She has the real thing!

Accuses a guy who goes into burning buildings to do his job of theft. Of useless shit. And gets treated like a fucking prince by strangers.

GG you've broken my mind Internet.

I'm pretty sure all of the people who donated already knew that the Chandlers are assholes. I don't see why this would change anything.

Would you settle for this slightly singed Dali reproduction that i totally just found lying on my lawn? It's worth a LOT.

Then they're rubes. I'm sorry, I know, but come on. Can anyone honestly justify this man and his fat worthless sack of flesh of a mother getting more than a used tissue? Imagine if you were a firefighter who had to go into that dump. That's all I have to say.

Well personally i wouldn't give them even that. What i mean is that anyone who didn't fully expect something like this sooner or later is insane. a thousand bucks worth of donated stuff wasn't going change the fact that Barb and Chris are fucked up jerks. But hopefully that wasn't the goal of anyone who donated. If it was, then yes, they are rubes, and hopefully they've learned something.

I would never give Chris a donation, due to his behavior. I especially hope people change their minds about giving after reading that Chris thinks that FIREFIGHTERS stole shit from his house.

Yeah, that's the infamous Chandler clan appreciation. Good to see that their delusions of grandeur survived the fire.
