Feedback Should something be done about autism thunderdomes with lolcows?

Separate lolcows from their threads?

Just split the thread and restrict arguing to the arguing thread it worked fine for that Faye Kane pervert.
 
I remember when the Shaner thread was considered a lowlight of the farms, and now every thread where a lolcow posts is like Shaner but eternal.

Yeah this. And put all the argument threads into the Autism Thunderdome section. Mikemikev is a good example of this, yeah it's occasionally funny to jab at him and have him fight back and keep him as our forum pet but it can get dull really quickly.

I'd say him, SolidMario/DarthChaos and Brad Watson need to be put into the Thunderdome. Not sure on any others.
 
It might be worthwhile to have some sort of restriction on who can post in the Thunderdome. Locking it to just People of Interest and True and Honest Fans might be overkill, maybe something more along the lines of that one secret project. There's just an awful lot of noise in threads cows post in, and most of it is redundant. That can serve a purpose for a certain kind of cow, but not usually.

The forum should be viewable to all, though.
 
I'm all for equality and treating cows like normal members of the forum. Expect them to follow the same rules as the rest of us: if they're shitting up a thread, give them a warning, put them on time-out, or whatever the normal moderating procedure is. If the exceptional slapfight must continue for someone's entertainment, see if there is an easy way to split the threads and separate the argument from the original one. I don't want our mods to suffer because they have to spend all their energy catering to dueling spergs.
 
Split the threads off into their own containment subforum. Call it the petting zoo. Then resume with discussion thread in the appropriate area.
 
I think separating on a case-by-case basis would be the best way to go, but normally people can't stop themselves and have to post 10 times in a row at the person saying different variations of "lol ur dumb" rather than genuinely interacting with them and asking questions, so a Thunderdome separation is the easier route for everyone involved.

As long as Jenn gets to keep using her thread.

I'm on board with separating the cows from their respective threads if they're gonna be autistic dickgoblins. At that point, keeping them together diverts attention from discussing the lolcows, themselves. If there's gonna be slapfighting going on, I feel it should be in a separate place.
 
Aside from halals, which don't count anyway, I've yet to see one thread that was improved by a cow's presence. Brad Watson's thread just needs to be shut down at this point, man.

I'd say separate them.

Depends on the cow. If it's Marjan style spamming, yes. But people like Mylar need to be forced into their own threads.
